Free floating bitplane pointers FTW!

The new normal: Several parts have mouse control. RMB at the end to restart. Enjoy.

Demo viewers: wow how did they get that really cool glitch effect..
Amiga demo coders: arrgghh the code is broken!!

I joke obviously. Easily the best tek demo so far. I love how intentionally broken everything is on purpose. Bang tidy job chaps!

Those free running plane pointers reminds me of all the times I crashed stuff trying to remove copy protection.

thumb for the tech... but the glitch "style" is ugly as hell
rulez added on the 2020-08-03 09:37:03 by DanLemon DanLemon
I guess the glitch would work much better with tighter sync to the music. And not 'permanently everywhere' but just over smaller areas of the screen.

Absolutely what h0ffman said, but after some seconds of reassurance, it's a really nice demo :-D whats really mean is that there is also hiss on the audio which had me in doubt for quite some time :-D
rulez added on the 2020-08-03 11:52:50 by wertstahl wertstahl
superb rulez ! Is the minimum requirements for this demo just really 512kb on an amiga 500 with kick 1.3 plain ? so far it looks in my emulator here... (o) (O) .
More than just awesome effects for that !
The only thing I don´t like: that butt ugly looking dog picture ;) . But well maybe that is a hint to the new world order ... I am not sure :D

Surely like the theme, bit too much glitches for me. Still very nice prod and always nice to play with objects with mouse. Good tune as always.

How do you differentiate a glitch from a bug? Oh, you don't? ;-P

Sad, Will be good without the glich effect, but i don't think it will be smooth enough without. Glich is not only here for the idea.
rulez added on the 2020-08-03 16:32:18 by Black Dragon Black Dragon
Great style which reminded me of the iconic CCCP. Still, this would benefit from tighter sync. I love the last part!

Once again, great work Bifat & co! Love the glitchy encoder killer style :)

The more interesting bugs cannot be seen in the current recording, which is probably not from real hardware.
We were in talks with a star designer, but couldn't secure a deal for this production. Sorry! For the next production we'll double our efforts for the effects to run free of bugs without losing too much framerate.

not a bad demo but not so much my cup of tea :) oink.
Felt very fresh for being an a500 demo thanks to the glitches and the great music! Nice effects as expected from bifat and great tek logo aswell. Thumbs up!

OMG! A demo full of gfx glitches. Bifat, what have you done? The worst nightmare of a coder has become reality. ;-) Hats off for this great idea. Music & effects match perfectly.

It's real cool. But I miss the plasma part.

Some glitched parts look great, some I'd leave clean but all together is fine. Code and Music are TOP!

Interesting! Real glitch or fake glitch, I like it regardless! The music is great and a perfect match!

Awesome demo bifat!

Absolutely astounding. Looking forward for Meteoriks awards.

(a little tip for musician: you can get rid of short ambient samples looping artifacts by playing them on 2 channels, one transposed by a tone or two)

Great demo! I also made a higher quality capture (A500/1MB/KS1.2): https://youtu.be/yUU9GzhbNTc

Big objects and great use of natural amiga glitching!

I watched on FS-UAE though. Not sure if I got the right kind of glitch. The chip memory had some kind of .....order... hmm...... hmmmmmmm...

Well done guys. I always love demos exploring for new ideas on the A500. Watch it on the real deal if you can, because encoder kills it :)

Very good and innovative effects. But Mr. Krill is better at fast loading procedures on c64 than "demo-design". ofkozz rules.

For me the glitch effects work really well here because they have a strong noise character, which also helps alleviate the aliasing we are used to on Amiga, particularly on OCS. All combined, you would not believe this runs on stock Amiga 500... and superb acid beats as well!

I think this pushes in the right direction for Amiga OCS (along with Spaceball's "Makt" and others I am not aware of) and would call it a milestone.
rulez added on the 2020-08-10 11:45:52 by zstab zstab
Lovely style and mood. Good music and smooth effects. I sure have a soft spot for well-made and restrained noise effects. The subtle transitions between the scenes with synced noise visuals and sounds was a nice touch! However, I think some parts dragged on a bit too long. Hopefully you will continue to use this great style and tech and release the next A500 demo of the decade.

@Titus: Congratulations, you found another bug in UAE. I just checked, I can confirm that it runs in FS-UAE with just 512k, but on a real A500 with just 512k of memory it bails out with errorcode 20 after loading.

finally came around watching this on my amiga.
I love it - the noise, the grittyness, the pumping track and especially the end-screen, which could serve as a piece in an installation itself.
this one goes straight into my list of modern amiga 500 demos of the new millenium.

Is it a coincidence that I recently rewatched Johnny Mnemonic?
Behind the glitches, very mid-ninetees-030'ish, yet done on OCS!

But please inform the guys that it called the "New Normal" now ;D

Yeah, I'm not getting the concept of the whole glitch thing, but the 3D stuff is nice enough, as is the soundtrack
added on the 2020-08-20 11:08:58 by Bossman Bossman
I like thee tech-used in the demo, but lacka a bit of design. Soundtrack is nice though.
It already took as a whole three days to do this demo from scrap parts we had lying around, and you are asking for d...d.d....d... de evil word with d.

Great! Especially the music with proper stereo separation combined with the glitchy objects.

I love the glitch. Could have a bit more tighter design. But <3 that end part and the text! Very refreshing look on the 500.

Strong atmosphere with industrial-like touch and matching music, but
also a bit eerie...especially the endpart with the strange sound(s).
