Never Met by Altiga
NEVER MET By Altiga Deadline 2026 ========= Ever since I saw it, my favorite 4K intro was Pullback Effect by Latitude Independent Association. I've always shown it to anyone who I wanted to explain the scene to, and I also tried to take it apart and figure out how it works, even though it was a bit too advanced for me at the time. After realizing he didn't come to Revision 2026, I was hoping to meet Kali at some party in the future, as he is truly one of my scene heroes. A few weeks later, I learned about his passing and realized that won't happen. I've been sad about losing people I admired before, but it feels different when it's someone in as small a circle as the demoscene. Everyone knows everybody, and despite never meeting in person, I feel a stronger connection to the people here than to some complete stranger. I had a hard time getting over it, and kept bringing it up to friends, both in and out of the scene. I just had to say something about it, I guess. ------ Made with Benzene, my own demotool, and Sointu using gm.dls. Text rendering code was based on pestis' "fluxerator", and I used some shader code from Kali (everything that looked good, essentially). Despite never meeting, I will miss him.
