At first, thank you for downloading the 8 discs, we know that in times of
single releases and bandwith waste, you need to trust in groups, knowing that
it's worth getting their stuff.
It has been a very long time now since the last chapter was released. We
would like to thank everyone who supported the group even if times were
rough. The demo-scene has changed a lot, new groups appeared here and there,
and finally everybody is moving to the internet. We hope that our group and
the music from us had been a constant value for you through all the years
we've been.
Yes my friends, this is chapter #10, an anniversary and retrospective in one.
We have music this time from all the new members who joined recently, plus
some of your old favourites.
Enjoy the strange atmospheres created by Spoon, or the rough beats from
Bomb20, even the house guys are served by Vivid and Assign. Cosmic shows off
his talents again with some fresh stuff.
You probably noticed that chapter nine had no interface, due to the large
amount of .xm's which were contributed. The old chapter routines only loaded
.dmf's, and it was about time to find a solution. TomJ already succeded at
coding the interface of Vivid's musicdisc, so he had a new job now. Let's
hope the chapter runs fine on your machine, because it was a lot of trouble
combining the .dmf routines with MIDAS sound system.
A special Thank-you! goes to Ajax for setting up the fabulous RR Homepage,
without even beeing asked to do it.
At least some words about the hardware requirements for the SVGA shell:
The interface should run fine on a Pentium 90.
If your graphics adapter doesn't support VESA 2.0, you should install
the included UNIVBE from Scitech.
Everything was tested on 3 different machines with SB32 PnP and GUS PnP.
If your soundcard uses software mixing, slowdowns may occur, or the
sound replay might stop.
It should work fine under WINDOWS95. who knows.
If you have a slow PC and don't see the equalizer, try chapter.exe /force
Have more than 2 soundcards in your PC, try chapter.exe /sound to try out
the other one :)
When loading a dmf track >1024kb on a 1meg gus the shell crashs.
DMF, XM > 1meg running on AWE32, Soundblaster or GUS PnP only.
But now enjoy Radical Rhythms Chapter 1O.
