        - P-90 or higher processor.
        - 10mb of free RAM memory. If you experience any problem
with memory requirements, try disabling "intro" on dr.ini.
        - Videocard with Vesa 2.0 640x480x16bpp videomode support.
320x200x16bpp mode is also required if the intro option on dr.ini
is enabled (and it is by default).
        - Plain MS-DOS (no DOS-box under Winxx) version 5 or higher.
        - A soundcard supported by MIDAS (SB/GUS...).
        - DOS4GW.EXE file on the same directory or system-wide path.
        - Keyboard and mouse :)

We've made this program as intuitive as we could... anyway, here is a little
introduction which should be enough to illustrate DR's usage:

│3.1.a│ Introduction to the Dark Rituals interface.
└─────┘

This music disk consists mainly of a visual interactive menu system, that
responds to the user's keyboard and mouse events.
Let's see a small diagram of DR's window distribution:

Description:

--- A) MAIN MENU.

The main program buttons are located here, at the top-left of the screen:

[ Dr Info ] It allows you to visualize interesting information about this
program, and establishes the entry point of the rest
               info-sections.
[ Song Info ] Click on this button to get additional info about the song
that is being played. A short description written by the
               composer is also given.
[ Options ] Gives you access to a sound/mouse configuration window.
 [ Extras ] Some distractions.
[ Credits ] The most popular people on the world ;)
[ Exit ] - Description not available at the moment -

--- B) SONG MENU.

With a tombstone siluet, this window is used to select the tune to be played
by the program. By placing the mouse cursor over the title, it displays 1 or
2 icons at both sides of this title depending of the author who tracked the
module (W = wonder, S = Smash!). By clicking on it, it will load and
reproduce the tune.

--- C) PLAYBACK CONTROLLER.

This one shows some info about tune that is being played: author, title,
format and playtime. This bar controls music playback with the
buttons situated below this information -stop, play, pause, rewind, forward-

--- D) TUNE INFORMATION WINDOW.

Shows current position, pattern, row, tempo and speed of the tune that's
being played.

--- E) VU-METERS WINDOW.

It visualizes some basic shapes which represent in an intuitive way some
sound data characteristics like volume output, note and panning.
We've implemented 5 different distributions (visualization modes) to let the
user choose the most appropiate to his preferences. Some of them also
include the possibility to draw different colour palletes.

--- F) NAVIGATOR WINDOW.

It's used to:

-Show information pages.
-Let the user navigate through the information pages (using an internet
 browser-like link system).
-Display some action result messages.
-Display configuration windows.

┌─────┐

F2 Captures the screen saving it as a Targa file (only in
                interface mode). Thanks SiN! :)

┌───┐
│3.2│ Modifying the dr.ini file.
└───┘

Most common options are set using DR's graphical interface, but there's
another method to specify your preferences.
DR provides a configuration file where those settings can be modified
by editing the appropiate variables.
Some advantages are:
-You don't have to change the settings at run-time anymore.
When you change them using the interface, this value (f.e. volume) wont
remain the same if you exit and run again. It will return to its default
value. DR reads those default values from dr.ini, thus if you edit this
file and choose another value for this variables, DR will always start with
  your favourite configuration prepared.
-Some preferences simply cannot be set using the interface.
  (f.e sound quality).

For more information, read complete instructions on dr.ini.

│░░ 4. TROUBLESHOOTING: ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘

Here's a list of the most common errors and their solutions.
First of all, read chapter 2 to see if your computer complies with the minimum
system requirements. If it does and you still have problems, check here for a possible solution.
If the problem persists or you simply don't find it in this list, write me
an e-mail with the description, your system configuration and with all the
info you think may be useful. I'll try to find out if I'm not too busy :)

E-mail: ithaqua@maptel.es

------

■Problem:
The program doesn't run under windows.
Solutions:
We've noticed that DR doesn't run properly while running under windows.
Reboot your system in DOS mode.

------

■Problem:
The program displays this error message:
"<·····>: Not enough memory to <·····>"
Solutions:
 a) Free up some RAM removing some useless resident programs.
    or
 b) Disable "intro" on the dr.ini configuration file.
    or
 c) Install more physical RAM :)

------

■Problem:
The program displays the following error message:
"GRAPHICS MODULE ERROR: Sorry, Vesa 2.0 not detected."
Solution:
You probably don't have a vesa 2.0+ driver installed. Install it and try
 to execute the program again.
Contact your vendor if you don't have the drivers who give vesa 2.0 support.

------

■Problem;
The program displays the following error message:
"GRAPHICS MODULE ERROR: Sorry, Vesa 2.0 <x> graphic mode not available."
Solution:
DR needs both 640x480x16bpp and 320x200x16bpp videomodes support.
Those 2 modes are standard ones, and almost every videocard with vesa 2.0
drivers properly installed should support them. Contact me if you
find this error, giving me all the info about your videocard and drivers
 used.

------

■Problem:
The program displays one of the following error messages (or similar):
"FILE ERROR: Could not open file <x>."
"DATA PACKER ERROR: Could not open <x> data file."
"DATA PACKER ERROR: Could not open file <x> inside <y> data file."
Solution:
 There are 2 possible causes:
 a) Some of the data files may be missing
Ask for the rest of the files or download them from internet.
 b) The program file(s) might be corrupted, proceed as in case -a-.

------

■Problem:
The program displays an error like "MIDAS <·····>: <····>".
Solution:
DR uses an external library to reproduce sound -MIDAS DIGITAL AUDIO SYSTEM-.
I have coded the program so that every single action using MIDAS should
print an error message if it didn't succeed. But unfortunately, there could
be many different causes for the problem.
Check all the program requirements, specially the minimum amount of RAM you
need and/or try to configure your soundcard manualy (edit dr.ini).

------

■Problem:
The program displays the following error message:
"MOUSE ERROR: No mouse or mouse driver detected."
Solution:
Check if you have your mouse correctly plugged. Also check if you have the
 mouse drivers properly installed.

------

■Problem:
The program displays one of the following error messages:
"MLTF: Error loading text pages: #totalpaginas not defined."
 "MLTF: Invalid #totalpaginas value."
"MLTF: Unexpected end of file in text pages infofile."
"MLTF: No #titulo string found in page <x>."
"MLTF: No #fuente value found in page <x>."
"MLTF: No #hiperfuente value found in page <x>."
"MLTF: No #text instruction found in page <x>."
"MLTF: No #paginaend value found in page <x>."
Solutions:
dr.dat file is probably corrupted. Download or ask for a correct one.
