                                TTWARS

This is another outstanding demo from Tony Barker, done for
Atari Australia Ltd. Get out the Stereo speakers to hook them up to a
TT for this demo. The sound alone is dynamite!

These are the files essential for the demo to work.

                dat1.dat dat2.dat ttwars.prg

The demo is written to take advantage of 32Bit ram if
installed and shows a noticable speed differrence if running from the
TT ram. The minimum memory requirement is 2 meg of ST ram.

Controls:

After the initial intro to the demo (ie: after the first 3D
section, the wiggly horn blowing color bit and the first run through
the animation.) you can control what happens on the screen. Firstly
the animation speed is controlled by the (+) and (-) keys on the
numeric keypad. Hit the (+) key a few times to really see the speed of
the machine. The 3D object on the screen can be changed with the ENTER
key of the numeric keypad. The SPACEBAR toggles between automatic 3D
object, mouse controlled 3D object and no object at all. The function
keys 1-9 control what effect the animation uses for display and F10
will switch back to automatic effect cycling. And of course Q will
quit out of the program back to the GEM desktop.

How best to view it.

The demo really should be heard through a stereo rather than
the internal speaker, and should be on a machine with 32 bit ram if
possible, but it doesn't really matter. If you hate waiting all
through the animation the first time round hit the speed controll keys
to make the entire thing run through quicker and get access to the
user controllable section.

Technical bits:

The animation running in the background was captured and
edited with custom written software and using the vidi ST hardware.
There are about 400 frames and if run at the same rate as recorded
results in about 1.5 mins of 16 greyscale video. The half and full
screen expansion is calculated in realtime as needed. The millenium
falcon 3D object has over 60 faces and the 3D star field has 150 stars
so during the intro complex 3Dimensional calcul- ations are being done
on over 200 points. The entire demo was written in two llooonnnggg
nights (thats all the time I had to spend writing this on a TT).

Horn blowing:

The entire program was written by Tony Barker from Moving
Pixels and is copyright him. The Star Wars images and music are of
course copyright Lucas Film. The demo is public domain and if you wish
