maxYMiser DMA by gwEm [web]

There was no time to code an intro for maxymiser dma... but this is what it would have looked like:

Screen fades to black
Fade into nicely drawn ST Survivor gfx, a scary evil beast thing made from YM and DMA chips
F1-F3 selects amazing YM and DMA hybrid musics by 505, Dma-Sc and gwEm
Esc cleanly returns to GEM desktop

a scrolltext reads:

"gwEm on the keyz welcoming you to maxYMiser DMA. This new version includes many improvements over v1.00. These include support for 2 extra DMA channels, enhanced MIDI, realtime reseqencing, screenless operation, microwire, and a minimalist sample editor.

As usual we have to thank STS for the -amazing- gfx included in this intro, and Dma-Sc for his important input on the editor design, concerning the new DMA features.

But this time I also want to especially mention 505 for his ideas and testing, as well as an excellent example music written by him.

Discussions with RA and Damo also inspired some nice ideas, so a wave to these guys too. I hope to see your editors released too some day soon!

So why did I decide to code these improvements? This was totally motivated by C-Rem and Tobe from MJJ who seemed to be the only guys on the scene interested in blitter friendly sound routine with combined YM and STe DMA sound. The people who say MJJ is just a fake crew are in for a big shock one day...

Someone wrote to me recently about a maxYMiser music that only worked on Falcon 030 because of using all the CPU ;) Maybe composers should check the manual, which now includes a section on optimising your music to use less CPU.

I must send my apologies to Dune and MJJ, especially Chuck and C-Rem. I hope you are not too sad or pissed off that I worked on maxYmiser DMA, and not your musics... Especially I am sorry to MJJ, because they really motivated the driver work, and now I release the editor before I finish their music.

Anyway, as I personal note I am pretty stressed and busy. Please don't expect much activity from me for a while. I will finish the musics I promised the frenchies and also ym rockerz stuff. I have no plans yet to enter the 20 year celebration, this I am sad about but I feel as if old projects should be finished first.

If you want to show your appreciation for the editor, just make cool music with it and dont forget mention maxYMiser in your prods! Also there is a maxYMiser email list which you can read about on the maxymiser website http://www.preromanbritain.com/maxymiser, if interested dudes subscribe, this is also a nice "thankyou".

Anyway... gwEm out..."
