Cubinator by disasterarea ------------------------- Well, here's the little intro I put together for the Syntax 2007 oldskool demo competition. It's my first ever attempt at coding anything for the unexpanded VIC-20, and I'll say that it was a bit of a pain in the arse. I started off coding in an emulator - hell, I even got it to the point where I thought it was finished, only to discover after I'd copied it to disk that VIC-20 emulators don't emulate certain aspects of The Real Thing too well. So I started hacking out pieces of the intro until it didn't look fucked and this is what is left. Which is ironic, because I'd been wrestling with the memory limit before that, and then suddenly I was able to waste bytes all over the shop. The sound is enough to make your ears bleed - I'm not apologising, though. I just really couldn't be fucked making a proper music player in the end =) Massive respect to the VIC-20 coders who have made GOOD demos for the VIC, esp. PWP, DKD, CNCD & the rest. Greets to all who came to Syntax 2007, especially the orgas - cTrix & gaiaSword - they really did put together an awesome awesome awesome party. Anyway, hope you enjoy the intro. Cheers, ript.
