Raivo by Coral [web]

Raivo (C) Tdc & Coral, 1998

Hardware requirements:
Pentium/6x86, 12Mb, Truecolor video card with VBE 2.0, DOS, etc.
    SDD 6.x is recommended!!

The demo was also tested on a AMD486DX2-80 but it was too slow. That's not
surprising since the demo is slow on my iP150.

Why it's so slow?
TWO OF THE TRIANGLE FILLING ROUTINES WERE CODED USING C++ AND COMPILED
WITHOUT COMPILER OPTIMIZATIONS (i used -od parameter). So it's sloooow..
I promise.. next time we'll use assembler :).

Do you use Windows95/98?
You have to restart your computer in MSDOS mode.

Does the demo lose synchronization?
Some video cards use too weird refresh rates and that causes the demo to
lose synchronization. It's not bug.. it's a feature. Try using a VGA
     mode.

Don't you have VBE 2.0 loaded?
If your video card doesn't support VESA 2.0 and you haven't loaded a
software driver then the demo shows a boring error messages and tells
you to load some software VESA2 or use 'vcfg' parameter. The error
message wasn't written for this program so the latter way doesn't work.
Just don't let the demo autodetect your video hardware if you wan't
     to use VGA.

VGA is supported but don't use it. 320x240 with 8bit colors looks a lot worse
than 320x240 with 16.8M colors.

Don't take this demo too seriously.. This demo contains mostly really old
code ('95-'97) and i (jj) combined the effects within couple days without
doing any design. I released this just to show that Tdc still exists though
it has been over 18 months since we've released a demo. We're planning to
continue with more serious productions.. But it may take a while before we
release a new demo. There were 15 months between our first demo and the
second demo. So probably there will be 21 months between the third and the
fourth :). Mutta me uskomme ihmeisiin.

The other groups that use the name 'tdc' have nothing to do with us except
that they have just as poor imagination as we have. Anyway.. We proved our
lack of imagination first.
