Black Memories A demo from Black Sun presented at Riverwash 2011 ------- Credits ------- Code: Nitro 3D: Miras, Booster, Nitro Creative Commons Music: Mountain Mirrors: "A Short Burst of Clarity" http://mountainmirrors.com/ --------- Tech info --------- The system requirements for this demo should be quite low, it ran fine on laptop equipped with GeForce GT330M except for two unoptimised scenes. It uses OpenGL ES 2.0(I didn't found any good books for modern OpenGL 3.x so I've learned OpenGL ES 2.0 first, I'll make the transition to its bigger brother in the next demo). Also sorry for the size, the textures should be compressed better, but there was no time for it and I went with JPG 100% for almost all of them. It uses following third-party libraries: OpenGL ES 2.0 wrapper: PVRVFRAME by Imagination Technologies OS Abstraction Library: PVRShell by Imagination Technologies Sound Playback Library: BASS by Un4seen Developments Image Processing Library: OpenCV by Intel Math Library: Vector Math Library by Sony --------------------------- Personal comment from Nitro --------------------------- I know that this demo is below being medicore, but everyone has some beginnings , our next demo will be much better as it was the case with C64 demos... There was a major obstacle during developement in form of broken laptop of Miras, his only remaining PC(he also had problems with it too) was one with RIVA TNT2 and so he couldn't have used Lightwave(which our engine uses) and I had to do all the montage, cameras, baking and stuff and it took huge amounts of time to do this for me: a coder. Week before party another 3D master: Booster joined our forces but it was too late to fix the design side of this demo. In case you didn't get the story as it was the case with most people at the party: the demo is about the Vietnam war soldier which is haunted with war memories to the point of commiting suicide. ------------------ Personal Greetings ------------------ Enormous amount of thanks for technical support and motivating me to start this demo goes to kbi/Elude, thanks meen, I owe you one :) Also hugs go to bonzaj/Elude and kiero/Elude for some technical support.
