music demo

..............the 29th July 2005, what a day,

Astronomers announced their discovery of
dwarf planet - Eris

But wait, something else happened on this date

Saulot of Nokturnal emailed Grazey with a
ZIP file, containing very rare tunes indeed.

The tunes were by Big Alec of Delta Force,
written in his fave tracker - triplex.
Gunnar had mentioned these tunes to me way
back in 1999 whilst I was coding UMD 8730.
So good, so far, so normal in fact....

However, the origin of the tunes was an
interesting story. They do in fact come from
the Atari ST game - Ambermoon, the follow up
to Amberstar. Unfortunately Ambermoon never
made it for release due to the impending
commercial demise of our poor ST. But fear
not, Big Alec had already converted most of
Mattias (Lionheart) Steinwach's Sound-Arranger
Amiga tunes.

So back to 2005, Grazey started to code a
little music selection screen, Salot extracted
graphics from the released Amiga version and
lo and behold we had a glimmer of a release.

There, the trail went cold, we had the
beginning of an intro, with the bouncy logos
which you can see in this release. However
interest waned and it was moved to the
"to do" folder to join the company of
"Automation 500A" and "unreleased Mad Max"
sub folders.

My interests moved back to D-Bug and SNDH,
my spirit was paticularly rekindled with
ULS, hard-driving, Falconising games. And
of course SNDH, my life work, kind of!

Me and Saulot emailed occasionally, "yes!
, we must finish this blasted demo" ,
"may be next year, yes def next year"

The years rolled by, the hair became
greyer......

Fast forward 14 years, and out of the
blue a guy released the raw tunes on
Atari-Forum. It had to happen eventually!

So in a period of frenzied, fuck it,
release this shit, "as is" here is the
Ambermoon Music Demo. As fresh as an
R.AL release dropping through my letter
box in 1988.

Suppose I better churn out the credits..
