Magic Crayon Conundrum

Magic Crayon Conundrum

Magic Crayon Conundrum

A puzzle-game in the spirit of Money Puzzle Exchanger, Super Puzzle
Figher, Bust a Move, Columns, Tetris, and cetera.

How To Play

The basic game involves placing like colors of crayons together,
  eliminating them from the board.

The game ends when the crayons pile off the bottom of the screen.
Causing you, or your opponent, to lose. Crayons will keep coming
off the top periodically, or when your opponent causes many crayons to
  react in a single chain.

Reactions

Four or more adjacent crayons of the same color will spontaneously react and disappear, clearing
them from your screen and earning you points. This is good because more
crayons will keep appearing off the top, threatening to bury you.

When colored crayons react, they also 'splash' the
neighboring crayons, possibly altering their color. We use the
Grade School model for color mixing - The basic uncolored crayon is
  White.
  Red,
  Blue, and
  Yellow are the primary colors.
  They mix to to form
  Purple,
  Orange, and
Green. Mix them all together, and you get
  Black , the color
  of despair.

Chains

Coaxing multiple groups of crayons into cascading their destruction is
called 'chaining' and will bring many points, give you more powerups,
send more pieces to your opponent, and delay your own demise.

To create long chains, you will need to plan ahead, combine the use
of several powerups, move quickly, and / or get really lucky!

The Mighty PowerUp

Five or more crayons of the same color in the same chain will earn a powerup.
Each color has a different power, except Black,
the color of despair. These powerups will do things like help you create longer chains,
score more points, or, if you are playing 2 player, attack your opponenet!

In SinglePlayer modes, all powerups are triggered immediately when you earn them. You WILL
need to use the powerup button to make good of the Laser powerup.

In Versus mode, some powerups (
  Red,
  Blue, and
Yellow) will be saved until you
use the powerup button to trigger them!

Play Modes

If you pay close attention, you will notice several different play modes from
the main menu:

Practice
In this mode, things stay nice and slow. Once you get the hang of how
the game works, this shouldn't be much of a challenge. It can be quite
mesmerising, however.

Survival
In Survival mode, it's a race against the clock! The influx of pieces
will increase until you can handle it no more! Bonus points
for long chains!

2p Versus
This is a fine way to decide who gets the last slice of pizza.
