Wellll, at last. This dentro was in plans for really long time. And now
we decided to link some of our routines and let the plans realise. It took
some time, because this is our first demo-like release, so we didn't have
any routines when we were planning...But there it is.
Okay, now just some technical info. Almost all code was done on 386DX 40,
but if you want to enjoy you will need a bit faster computer. Writing this I
didn't use the 386 instructions, so in theory it should work on 286.
In theory?... Yes, because to run GRAVE you will need about 384000 bytes
of Expanded Memory (EMS). So all you 286 people out there... I'm sorry...
BTW. You CAN use EMM386 and other drivers to get this memory available.
Mixing rate for music is
automatically set to 16kHz. Sound system I used is GoldPlay 1.0. It works
quite fine, thanks to The CodeBlasters. It supports both SoundBlasters
(2.x and Pro), SoundPlayers and PC Squeaker. One problem with GoldPlay
is that it's not too fast-some effects slow down ugly.
That's very nice if you've got colour monitor. Some parts use blue color,
and on BW displays you will see only black...
