360: DirectX? This is XNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
Interesting read those blogs of the three groups that work on this project - synesthetics excess and portalprocess. They have started probably a bit later than I thought they should have considering that it is a new environment (the 360) and one needs to allocate lots of time for small things that may surface over the next 40 ? days..

I'm curious to see if portalprocess will actually do a robot version on the 360 or go for something totally different ;-).

okay, so we get know some other names in this corporate shill of a "compo".

1. Synesthetics
2. Conspiracy
3. Excess & Portal Process
4. Hedelmae

As far as what has been said previously, Fairlight declined and Farbrausch wasn't too hot to start on this either. So who else is into this "let's do it for the money^H^H^H^H^H free console" thing?

So let me get it straight: There will be *4* top groups with a 360 demo for Assembly ? on top of fairlight and TBL ?
that sounds like the toughest lineup ever..

Respect to fairlight for that: keep amiga ;)

Don't forget TRSI did it first! I hope this gets a common practice (without the invite only part) and makes Sony and Nintendo do Demo SDKs for their machines ;)

So was there any other gain apart from the xboxes for development ?

Smash: talking about development blogs and diaries how is the zine engine going ? :-)

Xbox 360 is a cool demo platform (although I hate those ridiculous 10MB of embedded VRAM) but the whole XNA thing is crap, too bad...

Yes. Microsoft can yammer about how cool their XNA platform is. No amount of viral advertising from an elite think-tank can be bought for a couple of free consoles and licenses to develop for that thing. It's a steal.

On that note, they had some trouble getting rid of the last freebie unit, if the assembly mailing list was anything to go by.

Yes and no. They did an XNA demo and then didn't release it. That's not really the same as releasing a demo. Let them release the source as the XNA developer license dictates, then we'll talk :)
