haha that's the most depressing picture i've ever seen
Depressive picture for the 2006 french scene, isn't... but the fact is this demo has the merit to exist now in France which is considered for being a desert for the Scene... As organiser, it's not depressive at all, just acting positively for the demo. There was no quantity but the quality was for the meeting. Anyway 2007 isn't 2006...

May be this year will be progressive.

You are welcome.

again that old crappy argument, french scene is dead blablabla :)

I doubt you manage to make a lot of french sceners feel like attending your party with such a state of mind...

oh well, forget my message, french demoscene is a desert as you said, so there is probably nobody in France to feel like coming or not anyway :)

Is this desertscene then ?

oxb: crawl back into the sand, nothing to see here, only wind and extreme temperatures :)

whatever you got to say, Main had the second most visitors of any french party in 2006, wich aint bad for a first time party in a region of france were there the scene traditionally have been really small and there havnt been a party for like 10 years. That Main in 2006 was abit overoptimistic and made place for 400 ppl and only like 25% of that arrived, hense the deserted-scene picture above, shouldnt take away the credit for what cybernostra achieved as a new organiser with close to no connection with the active french demoscene from start.

what really beats me is oxbs attitude. what exactly are you trying to achieve? I dont see you doing the sacrifise or putting your soul down in organising an event like this so why dont you just shut up? kthnxz ^^

By using the desert word I just meant that there is no demoparty in France since long time in count of the numbers of French sceners and I think to the young and fresh generation : that's all, there are a lot of "demo touaregs" and not enought "demoparty oasis" in France.

Alors... we try again.

Good luck anyway :)

And don't forget to come to Numerica \o/

(ok I STFU)

hey, don't get me wrong, respect to you for putting on the party. you over-estimated a little with the tables and chairs though, eh? :) that's all i meant by my comment, didn't mean to rock the boat...

Yeah :) just optimist and oversizing the equipment, but it was nice to did it as 400 coming... a real good training to prepare the #2

It's obvious that I'm trying to spoil your whole event dude :/

C'mon, if you don't feel the irony then you won't never feel that genuine demoscene spirit of ours.

Good luck in putting your soul and sacrifice for this party then :/. I wish you a crowded place with lots of top-notch demos, hardcore music, junk food, beer, beer, beer, KB's voice on the PA, death metal music at its best, "hallo was?", amazing gigs, internal IRC sponsored by Chuck Norris, porn leeching, and all those things we like in demoscene. ;)

from my very point of view of a simple participant of both demoparties and lanparties, i think a french demoparty should try to welcome gamers too (that would bring money and sponsors also ;)... ok most CS players won't be hardcore demoscene fanatics but with a bit of pedagogy (the teams could introduce their compos with a few words to explain the amount of work they have done) some will be gladly interested.

kudos to oxb for exhuming this funny pic, and big kudos to cybernostra for organizing a demo/blip-blop event in fr :)

btw CS competitions in the french south are crazy, it's an insult battle at the same time :D
