Here's a .rns for you then: http://bstrr.dk/v2rns/v2_testtune.rns
See if it works! (and enjoy the innovative beat! :D)

:o
Now tell me how you managed to get the pan column in there. (Where you put 92)
When I start a new song there's only the volume column.

Thanks! I never thought about it before I started with V2, I just used the old-school 8xx instead. Well well!

am-fm, both render to .wav and asio support is only available in the registered version. oh, and do get v1.8!

daxx, put 92 in the panning column and then the patch number in the effect column (e.g. 0001: bass, 002D: hat, 0003: bd, ..)

proper way to do panning is of course to use lfo or an envelope

1.8 didnt run on my pc.... so i need a cracked 1.5 or a registered??

el-bee, personally i only use dynamic panning for effects (like during buildups / breaks) - otherwise i just drag the track panning-slider to place the sound (using the wall of sound principle).

am-fm, you need to register it (it's fairly cheap) - you can then download either version from the renoise backstage area.

daxx: tried pressing on "Echap" or enabling the record button?

@all renoise lovers: just come at evoke as there are a some active renoisers that will come and share the love of this software (keith303, looza, dblue, teh kaneel baguette omfgwtfbbq...).

Actually, panning has got nothing to do with it. (Maybe we confused some people now?)
There's a little trick in Renoise that lets you do a so called program change (And also other MIDI related stuff) by entering speial commands in the pan column.

i tried to change presets with ableton live of v2, (ive only done one tune with v2, and was happy with it), but i just couldnt. it was very weird. in addition, i just couldnt hack it. i could make sounds, but then id only have a new sound on the first channel, not any of the others. i guess i just gave up out of frustration..
(i kept thinking maybe there was somewhere i could click to get to the other channels to alter their parameters and all that - but i just couldnt boo.h.oo.o.)

would be nice if someone will create a little engine which can handle v2m :) maybe a little tracker or whatever :P

daxx.. use zTracker.. send the midi through a virtual midi out, to a sequencer's virtual midi in, and connect the virtual midi in to a vst-track that has v2 on it = you get to control v2 with zTracker.
thats good enuff for me - or well, would be, i guess. i just tried v2 with ableton live when i was mucking around with it - and now i have a v2 track i can play at gigs.

there's this tracker which can handle v2, but you guys are just not willing to use it. :)
buzz works best with v2 i'd say, never had any problems concerning using that one with v2. paniq might approve as well.

How do you guys change the patchs? :|

By sending the appropriate MIDI commands.
Which commands? I'm using Renoise 2.0.0 and I tried this PAN 92 FX 0001 thing and nothing happened. :'(

ahh yeh. V2 is a demotool. it would be too easy to use if it would work without coding something to make it work. ;)

the V2 api is an opened source. write an own sequencer instead of bugging out on trackers and plugins.

else use buzz. cause that worked. atleast for me.

You use a regular MIDI "program change" command to change the instrument.

If you can't do that easily, then whatever you're using has really bad MIDI support.

i don't use renoise but my best guess would be that you should use those controls:
BB Image
instead of the usual VST program/"preset" controls.
