for some reason there are two TRSAC 2008 .. and i chose the wrong one it seems, can you please change this -http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=51990 - so it shows here http://pouet.net/party.php?which=109&when=2008 instead of here http://pouet.net/party.php?which=1203&when=2008

http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=51986 needs to have the download links changed again. It previously linked to a website with both Windows and Linux versions. The original link was http://koti.kapsi.fi/~tzaeru/horrorterror_download.html.
If having two platforms is possible, I'd like that too..

Somehow there are two times the same group: http://pouet.net/groups.php?which=10451 and http://pouet.net/groups.php?which=10452.

I am fairly sure I only made the first one - the last one, I think, was accidentally added by a gloperator. Not sure.

But can the information be merged or at least one removed? (preferably the one with less GROUPIES <3 .. and then add the Web address)

Also, http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=51991 is a both windows and linux demo.

Fixed what i could, gargaj will take care of the x / takeover party crossover mismatch and remove the dupe group.

el topo: if i tell you that it's a demo, then that's a demo, got it ?

gargaj: how about the vector06c category? (requested a couple of pages back) i don't mind if you want to postpone adding new platforms for some reason, just wondering what's going on really. :)

i think there are too many platforms anyway, i dont see the reason to add one that will only get 3-4 niche products that were made in 2001 and will only have, say, one single product every 5 years.

well, apparently the vector 06c scene was slightly bigger than that: http://sensi.org/~svo/scalar/categories/4/ contains a couple dozen prods, released over at least a decade.

complicating the case further is the fact that there isn't really any "technically similar" platform already on pouet. i've stuck one prod under the BK0010 category. but besides the fact that these systems both originate in soviet russia, there really is not that much similarity at all (f.e. BK0010 uses a DEC proc, vector06c uses a 8080 clone). apparently some games have been ported to vector06c from msx1 and zx spectrum, but they had to be modified heavily due to differences in the instruction set of 8080 and Z80 processors. also, vector06c seems to have some rather fancy graphics modes- sadly i haven't been able to run any of the "goodlooking" demos so far, but it's about as advanced as atari st lowres (and thus a million miles beyond other soviet systems of that era).

anyhow, i totally agree with the principle that small categories should be avoided if possible in any way. hence i didn't request separate categories for TRS-80 and CoCo, even if they are completely different hardware wise, they were marketed under the same banner by the same company, that's all the excuse i need to vote against further splitting. i just don't see how to apply this line of thinking to the vector06c category.. except maybe if we create a "basketcase soviet systems" category to catch 'em all at once?

i'm planning to introduce some subcategories in pouet 2 - until then, let's keep our platform growth to a minimum.

fair enough, platform moratorium until v2 it is then. i do still assume that the ultimate long term goal is to collect every existing demo regardless of platform- if that's not the case any longer, no problem, but please do tell me about it so i don't end up pulling a dead horse. :)

i'm not the one to decide that - i'd much rather prefer a good pouet (i.e. demos with more than one comment) than a large one.

remember: traditionally, this is still analogue's site, even if i'm the one covering the technical aspects.

@hitchhikr: Got anything else to back that statement up other than you saying so?

gargaj: with all due respect to analogue, you seem to be the one doing the actual work at this moment, so i'm taking your opinion at least as serious as his. as your line of thinking seems to be diametrically opposed to my previously assumed ideal of completeness, i guess it makes little sense for me to keep on adding obscurities to the site, at least for the moment.

el topo: it all depends on your definition of what a "demo" or "intro" is. check out some c64 "single part demos"- i would call that an intro, but hey, if the c64 guys have some other silly tradition, it's fine with me also. what is the right term in this particular case is not really my competence to speak about, there's a bunch of ppl around here with far more amiga credentials than me (like hitch, for example).
added on the 2008-10-30 16:37:58 by havoc havoc
Well, the release date should be a clue already and 200k for a 1986 intro is just not possible.

Also if you even tried it you would have noticed that there's no way one can exit it which would be a major handicap for an intro.

THE END.

They may have been called intros but they were demos.
