Venetian Snares could use a hand

I'm not saying he should sell off his stuff. At all. I understand that.

But if you're wealthy enough to buy that kind of stuff in such quantities, and then end up in some financial trouble, I'd kind of like to know at least some background. At this point we literally don't know if he suddenly got fucked over with a massive lawsuit or if he just burned through all his money buying modules and now can't afford to pay rent.

Whatever floats your boat, but somehow using only softsynths bores me. Just doesn't feel as hands on.

I don't think he should necessarily sell his hardware because he can just as well do things in software.

the point wasn't about criticizing his way of workflow.
the point was

is it morally right to ask people financial help when you have a lot of wealth

..
to put it simply.
lets imagine a situation where i spend all my money on t-shirts size xxl that spell "i'm with stoned!" and arrow upwards. there the boxes full of t-shirt now are resting against my gigantic wall of vintage gear. apart from the jizz stains, its perfect.

then i remember i have to pay the rent.
fuck!

i put a message on Facebook asking people to buy my albums because my bad financial situation.

..
yeah..with my luck it probably later turns out that his house burnt down and he has no insurance..that in mind..

that was basically my point though. We don't know the situation, and his lack of transparency makes me slightly skeptical. I mean, fair, it could be something really private, but for all we know it could be something really stupid that nobody wants to help him with because he dragged himself down in some idiotic fashion.

Not to mention, nobody likes selling their stuff to make ends meet in desperate times. I surely wouldn't :\

From what has trickled down - even if he sold a ton of records to fans willing to help out, he'll still need to sell all his gear...
