Monotonik - new YouTube channel.
category: music [glöplog]
While we're on the subject of Mono/Monotonik, the Amiga net.label (1996-2009) - we just set up a YouTube channel to gradually upload _all_ of our releases to YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJkM1VyCJNBc5htsaIPg3bw. First 5 releases from Lackluster, Substance, Hoffman etc. are up already.
Feel free to subscribe if you'd like to see how long it takes us - there must be >1,000 and maybe even >2,000 individual song releases to be uploaded! (Our master archives are still on Archive.org and Scene.org but we may be getting some new .MOD to .MP3 conversions as part of this that we'll add to Archive.org, yay!)

Whoever wrote the infos to the youtube videos is master of bullshit.
And that was a praise.

Oh, the memories! Thank you for starting this.
Say, do you go any lengths with remastering the tracks or convert and go?

back in the day loved mono so i've subscribed.
We're not remastering any of the MP3s, just using original files - just too much to get through in terms of raw posting, haha. For the .MODs => .MP3s, a fan/collaborator is - I believe - crossmixing them a bit so you don't get that 100% pan weirdness - but no remastering with 'new' assets. But they actually sound pretty good in .MP3, from what I've heard :)
Doublechecked, and all .MODs are mastered in mono (ha ha - no, really!) and all .XMs/.ITS are in stereo - makes sense!
Best would be limit stereo to somewhere 500hz and rest being a bit stereowidth limited also (to about 50%) on amiga modules :)
and use linear phase eq for clean result
Basslane does exactly that, some scener I don't recall right now recommended it a few years ago and I have been using it since on some projects.
simoniker, yes indeed! i started remastering the .schleudertrauma. and _rohformat backcatalogue, but eh... well.

There is a reason the group was called MONO!

Also, get this done!
yes, basslane is free one. also BX_Control is really good and has some extras, but costs.

Some updates - there's now a Soundcloud account too with all the same tracks as YouTube being uploaded: https://soundcloud.com/mono-monotonik
We also found all the old MonoRaveIk releases (mainly from Subi), which had fallen off the Internet, and will be uploading to YT/SC - in the meantime they're here: https://archive.org/details/monoraveik_201602
Also, all the old DJ mixes on the Mono FTP site back in 2003 were grabbed off CD-ROM by me and re-uploaded - lots of mixes from Monotonik & friends, including a great Mortimer Twang mix & more: https://archive.org/details/mono-monotonik-dj-sets - some but not all of these are on Scene.org.
