Share your Deadline moment with us!

I recently discussed with some other party orgas over what's the motivation to organize a party. Of course this is very subjective and individually different - one of the reasons (and my key motivation) is to provide a space for people to experience memorable moments together. I started visiting demoparties around 2005 and I have a lot of cherished memories on specific moments I strongly connect with specific parties (and people ofc).
If you happened to visit one of the previous editions of Deadline, we would like to hear about the one moment that you most strongly associate with Deadline - please feel free to share it with us here in the thread if you like, for some joint reminiscence :)

I'll start -
Deadline was the first demoparty I visited when I joined the scene in 2017. I was in Berlin for a two weeks period of time for work and Deadline took place exactly on the weekend in between, so I decided to go. When I first entered the ORWOHaus I knew that this is a place I want to be and come back to :) I spent the entire weekend trying to write my first non-scientific shader on Shadertoy, which suceeded (but it was a bit ugly).. I watched a kickass holon prod and realized, I need to learn this shit, being able to make intros is just amazing :)

My Deadline moment was singing "You're my heart, you're my soul" on stage during the prizegiving in 2015.

The theme was "1983 calls for your bytes" and on a whim I decided to sport a nice 80s pr0n mustache and matching look. That and the photo I took somehow earned me the secret "Most Retro Thing" award and during the prizegiving Moqui joked that I had to sing YMHYMS now. I took him for his word, an mp3 appeared out of nowhere and I performed the probably worst karaoke act of my life.

That performance landed me the job as Nordlicht host, and through my involvement with Nordlicht kaomau and I got to know each other better. It all came full circle when Deadline 2017 was the first party we visited as a couple :)

Deadline 2015 was my first demoparty after 2007. I remember arriving at the partyplace, looking around and realizing I knew (or remembered) none of the people present. For a brief moment I felt like an outsider. But then I walked out to the bonfire, got into talking with some nice people and after a while it was like I had never left the scene. I left that party with a bunch of new scene friends.

Been there every year since and yes, the tram tickets are booked :P

Well I don't have a lot of experiences, but in 2023, I walked into my first "real" demoparty for the first time (I am not sure that I should count On Track). Put my computer down and wandered around, started talking to someone, about it being the first one I'd been to, and that I even made a demo even though I wasn't really sure what I was doing and didn't think it was that good. He said: "Oh yeah, I know that feeling. I made a demogroup based around that feeling." "Oh, which one?" "Farbrausch."

Guess the demoscene is a small place! I knew the name from a very long time ago, in a land far far away, where there's no demoscene - I'm guessing because of .kkrieger or .the .product. I also can't remember if Debris was the demo that one of my high school science teachers showed us during a slow class.

Oh, and I was playing with Shader Toy then later saw my shader on someone's screen right in front of mine...
