Is there some trick to running .trd and .scl in Speccy (for Linux)?

category: general [glöplog]

I've downloaded a few ZX Spectrum demos and would love to watch them through the Speccy emulator. The .tap ones run just fine but I've never successfully ran a .trd or .scl. I've tried multiple emulators with no luck. I've decided on sticking with Speccy. The demos I'm using to test with are WeeD by Triebkraft & 4th Dimension, and across the edge by deMarche. Any help would be most appreciated.

.trd refers to tr-dos images afaik, it's more common on russian versions of the spectrum, pentagon for example. should also work on spectrums with divIDE/divMMC i think (i dont have one of those). .scl is a similar disk format afaik. fuse emulator supports both those formats, and should work in linux. you might need to get and install pentagon / scorpion roms though. but you can google them up.
