btw. at the show there have been some problems with the playback because the show crew of evoke showed the demo directly from the computer of bitethebytes but the showscreen didn´t managed to play it in the installed screen-rate so they needed to adjust it. Thats the reason they started the demo again. But some people in the audienced rumored that would be a failure coming from c#, but this just wrong. I think such a lame comment is a shame. Remember a whole new engine and the demo in 3 weeks! Whoa!

Nearly correct. They brought their laptop, changed the resolution, but not to 1024x768, which was the need for the beamer and started the demo. It looked quite good on the laptop screen but not on the big screen since the beamer couldn't handle the input (a.k.a. drug colour scheme). They aborted and restarted with the correct resolution and there weren't any problems any more.

Btw skyrunner, it's on the release DVD and on the unofficial release server.
@Titus & Madenmann

Ok ,thx for the infos but damn it doesn´t run.

the infofile says :You need Microsofts .NET 1.1 Framework (with SP1) and MDX (Managed DirectX 9.0c).

But I have SP1 and Directx 9.0c. Or is there anything else missing?

Hi, I'm data from bitethebytes. Sorry it took me so long to find this forum here :)

@Skyrunner: You need the latest DirectX (Aug. 2005), you can download it here, as part of the DirectX SDK: http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/7/5/475cc4c2-09bb-4d7f-b7c9-b11750b45604/directx_9c_Aug05sdk_redist.exe
Once you install that, it should work.

I guess we should have included that URL in the NFO, but we didn't think of it when submitting the entry; it was very close to the deadline then ;)

sky: only directx9.0c does not work for the biteTheBytes demo. data posted a wrong link for the redistrbutable you need.
here is the correct link:

@Skyrunner

beeing a NON-volunteer BETA 2 tester of the C#
visual studio.NET (and therefore hating this language) asure
yourself running a .NET framework runtime environment.
C# was claimed by M$ to be a multiplatform language....
erm...of course if you run that roughly 150MB environment
on ya system. But I might guess that there is this framework installed already on XP systems, eh? dunno

But props to fellows who rape that language for pushing artwork!

thx to all who gave infos.

Question to BitetheBytes: Is this .net framework included in WinXP service Pack1?

The link (direct x) does not work.

Maybe you can make a video with Kkapture from "Archimedes" that would be easier.

the .NET framework is allready installed with XP SP1, but only in version 1.0
for our demo, you need the 1.1 (.NET SP1)
sorry about the wrong links to the DX9 update, but there is a problem pasting the URL, my URL is correct, but the link does not work. I hope this time i do it all right :

Ok, last post on the btb01: archimedes demo issue in this thread. ;) Anyone having problems, please look at my posting at the prod page - I've made a video capture of the demo as Skyrunner suggested which can be downloaded there, and there's also info on how to get the exe working.

PS: Evoke05 demoparty was great, it was a great atmosphere there, not too big & not too small a party! We met a lot of nice sceners there, you people rock! Keep up the good work.
