Dunno. Maybe I should write a demo for our fruit machines, although I guess the attract mode is kind of a demo ;-)

I believe someone WAS working on one for neo-geo, or there was one, but no I do not have it nor have I seen it. I would LIKE to see one on neo-geo hardware (:
I think the main problem is that tile-based architectures ain't too hot for the usual stylish graphics.

Me would <3 to see demos on NeoGeo MVS or NAOMI or Model 3.

If it wouldn't be a pain in the butt to code those machines, a vector-display-driven arcade would be VERY cool to have a demo on..

*sigh*

I wrote this [http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=10557] in 2003 for assembly. Those fools thought it was just a video. its running under MAME as an emulated System 16 arcade machine. see the item for links to the rom images.

I might be planning to do something else under MAME, maybe, maybe not. I can give you some pointers if you like [syntax@northerndragons.ca]

Cool! Too bad I can't try it now.

What did you use to make it? I've always been a fan of Sega's System 16 :) (and Capcom's CPS-2)

i used maccer and jas to make it, along with some custom tools i wrote and some tools i found. oh, and a debug version of MAME *invaluable*

It might not work in current versions of MAME as the rom names might have changed or that game might not be listed, can't remember which.

Would you share those tools by any chance? :)

I guess you made most of the code in 68000?

oh, and I wrote an article about it for an edition og Hugi, but I can't remember which one right now. think it was 27 or 28.

I DOMINATE ARCADE DEMOS
What would really be cool is to be able to burn a demo to rom chips and run it on the actual hardware.. I collect machines, though I don't have anything using the System 16 platform...

The downside, of course, is having to swap multiple rom chips out. Most of the older games use a bunch of roms each.

Well, Sega wanted to build a DXMEGADEMOSTATION, but they paid way to little. A billion for what? Selling your partlyname and gain alot of popularity amongst lamers? Nah, not for us.

ngtflyer: thus the obvious Neo-Geo advantage (:
megadelux - wtf are you talking about, fanboy?

I heard there was an SDK for Vectrex machines, but I don't know the particulars. I can try and dig up the info if anyone is motivated.

consider (some of) us being motivated.
