Don't worry, you'll understand this once you grow out of the "everything disturbing is cool huh-huh-huh" phase.. :)

What on earth are you talking about and more importantly who are you talking to?

pouet could have a "goatse" button for each post and prod like on craigslist. if enough people would flag it, the system would signal that it's an unsafe post next to "Added on... by..." and disable all pictures in the post. anyone who's logged in could enable/disable unsafe pictures just like fakeusers.

an 'offensive' flag could be set in the prod, disabling the screenshot and changing "no screenshot yet" with "censored. grow up first.".
[offensive #1], [offensive #2], [offensive #3].
I'm very much against censorship, after all, who's going to decide what should be allowed and what not?

However, if it's really a problem then some explicit screenshot flag would be ok I guess. Anyone who enters a production could set it to true or false and only gloperators would be allowed to change it. Enabling the screenshot would simply be a matter of clicking the censorship screenshot which is shown first for flagged productions.
This would atleast protect some of the more sensitive people here from watching a screenshot which they don't want to see.

question number one is "why would we really need this".
the question is brought up by people using pouet in public places, and as it happens me sometimes i can see the problem.

madenmann :)
my 'flag' thing wouldn't be related to 'offensive' content on the prod. far from me - and badly choosen name. my idea was something that could anser the need of not seeing 'uncomfortable' *screenshots*.

Ok, a screenshot with a picture of Muhammed wouldn't be 'uncomfortable' since it's freedom of speach. But what would happen if on that screenshot Muhammad would shit or piss on Stars and Stripes (which is lying in the mud). Would that count as 'uncomfortable'?
The only reason to censor anything on pouet i can think of is to safe pouet rather than children.
That means if prods/screenshots could cause trouble with the law, it should be deleted.

All other prods can still be thumbed down to show what you think of such things in the scene, thats demo-cracy.

simply being "work-safe" is the aim, I guess. most work-safe websites are kid-safe, too.

Whose law?

French law, because pouet was started by French people?
Dutch law, because the server is in Holland?
Portuges law, because PS is one of the main maintaners of pouet?
German law, because German people may visit pouet in a German netcafe?

What about Saoudi-Arabian law? Should pouet comply to that one too?

I guess you got my point by now? :-)

the internet was made for this!

Some facts:
#1 Pouet does not host any product, it is only a big database with images, comments and links.
#2 The domain pouet.net is property of a French citizen.
#3 Pouet.net is hosted in the netherlands by an organization based in Finland.
#4 The .net registry is based in the USA.
#5 The main developer is citizen of Hispania.

So according to which law would you keep or delete stuff?
damn, sparcus was faster. :/

Ok, so what does ancient Roman law have to say about this? ;-)

maybe a quick [NSFW] (as we all know as not suitable for work] notification in the demoname would already be sufficient to make ppl alarmed that there's smth bad coming up and it doesnt require ps to code more phpstuff, but havoc has some editing to do :P
this is the silliest thread ever.

just get opera and browse pouet with image loading disabled.

Sparcus & Madenmann:

Thats not my part to judge which law is the one to refer to.

Its the responsibility of the one who is in charge of this site.

It was only my opinion to what would justify a censorship here.

how about adding this frame to "evil" screenshots?

Zweckform: don't get me wrong, I understand what you mean and ofcourse you are right, pouet does have to comply with the law anyhow, no matter how we think about it.

But there are also plenty of screenshots here which don't violate the law and still aren't worksafe, so it doesn't really solve the problem, although the real problem is ofcourse that some people are not working while they're at work ;-)

Sparcus:

If people use pouet at work and some there don't like the stuff they are watching - well pouet is not here to solve other peoples problems.

I guess the companies should put Pouet on a internal bann list or something, but its up to them.
