right-o...

some months ago, some dutch sceners were preparing to take part in an exhibit in eindhoven... after a few weeks preparation, we get a thanks but no thanks mail... sure that suxx, but well, what to expect, those artsy boys and girls most likely just don't have a clue what they're missing... whining about it makes no sense, show some fucking pride and let them go to hell... with their ponytails and flashanims.

I disagree with all of you saying this should be passed by in silence. I too reacted to the bad-mouthing of Iconoclast in the booklet text. It obviously upset ASD.

About the misspelling - I wrote to the organizers, twice, and made it quite clear that my group did not want to be mixed up with ASD and their productions. Needless to say (after reading this thread) there was no response.

there is a bit of the original 'andromeda' in every one of us though.. :-)

well I can totally see why Amusic is pissed - I'd also be. this is simply rude...

anyway, what's wrong with earning money with something you like and you're good at?

there's been a lot of talk of "submitting your prod", but let's not forget that one time the bitfilm-people simply ignored the submissions and just came here to pouet to find their own nominees. also - the scene has a strong presence in germany, so please stop saying it's all about the moolah. getting your demo shown, doing outreach per say, is a good thing.

kepos: i know for a fact that navis does not travel to norway for the cash, so please stop saying that. :)

totally agree with what ps (and probably others) have said, and anyone who says amusic is "whining" has probably missed the point...
amusic may or may not be pissed for a good reason, but in either case... why complain here? what good can that possibly bring? afaik the ppl who wrote and published that comment do not read this bbs. are we going to assemble a posse and raid the shitfilm bmx hq? if not, then what's the point of this thread anyway?

havoc: why don't you read amusic's initial post - i think it's perfectly clear why he posted his opinions here. if you can't see it, then you're pretty darn daft. :)

Mr Hyde: happy to see you're still alive and kicking! Where is Dr Jekyll? And all others Andromeda members? You're for me and surely lots of fans, one of the best groups on the Amiga plateform: your style is simply excellent and the quality of your releases worth a lot in term of design, speed, elegance, for everything (music, code, design, gfx, texts, spirit, structure, ...).

Money in the scene? It's a joke really: ppl doing demos spend so much time that such low priced rewards can't be considered enough for all your hard work. IMHO you're all artists and work for the sport of it, for the pleasure it gives you, for the public, for your firends, and for the love of it.

You love programming (etheir hiting custom chips regs, etheir through API because on the end it's programming and it's fun), zik (whatever the style or the technology used, it's about playing with sound and that's what really matter, isn't it?), the gfx (same as zik, but it's about image rendering there).

You'll always meet asshole and rough comments, the best IMHO is to ignore them because this reduce productivity, you can't please everybody, just remember there is jaleousy and misunderstanding.

Make even more such styled music so hears will get used to and finally your style will be enjoyed by the masses like my articles have found an audience. There's a place for everybody and all tastes are in nature. And don't talk about ppl you don't love very much because on the end this is additional free advertisement for them: controversity is a big big big seller, just see tabloïds.

ps: please change my status back to normal, thanks in advance.

Hyde, you should know that two Andromeda members (namely Lizard and Mr.Man) are the reasons that I initially got interested into the scene and writting music. They were like my invisible mentors. Many years ago I bumped into Lizard in IRC and told him that. I would be very greatful if you could pass this information to Mr.Man as well =)

Oh.. and to clarify it for the people who don't get it through the initial post, this was posted here because it's not intended as a "complaint towards Bitfilm". They have been contacted and they are aware of our distraught, and they have issued a Semi-Apology to which of course we're semi-satisfied.

This was posted here as food for thought for the rest of the sceners because well I believe that people should know that. Of course you're not obliged to eat from the same plate now eh?

i like Paniq's work, specially in FR demos, but his wiki article is clearly self-promotion...

Zest isnt the demoscene some sort of wide self-promotion scam anyway

Gloom: Honestly, never implied the audience there, but in a similar vein:

Could you please segregate bitfilm gaywads from limp ninja members?

so who in limp ninja does have a pony-tail after all? while avoozl might be the only long haired member that comes to my mind now, i can't remember having ever seen him not sporting a fabio-do*. :)

*i do remember a certain "loreal spokes person" comment about him from somewhere. chances are that i've spotted that very comment right at slengpung.
