Zest: Nice to see the company of my Softimage and animation teacher at university is doing well. At the time, in 99, he was finishing his thesis on, AFAIR, pattern detection and texture generation.

I don't think so.
At least not at the time, but my course was brand new and the promotion really small ( ~25 students ). It included 2 sceners Geek/ribbon and me, and we dragged a few into demo parties, so it wouldn't surprise me if he heard about the scene. Also through his work he must have seen werkkzeug and kkrieger.
