Any demoscener from Mensa?

category: residue [glöplog]
When someone feels he needs to PAY and be a member of a certain group to prove their superior intelect, I seriously question that person's mental sanity.

HELLIQ is just a grown up version of bullies stealing their lunch money in high school
Regarding myself, Mensa is the only society I'm a member of which demands an annual fee (EUR 44). For this fee it regularly sends me a magazine printed in colour on high gloss paper. All the other societies I'm a member of are such where membership is free of charge. I would have scored high enough on various IQ tests to join even more societies, but I don't want to pay a fee to a society that is mostly inactive and offers nothing more than listing you as a member at its homepage.

Alas, there are also various people offering "high range IQ tests" on the Internet who demand a fee for scoring the tests. Some of them seem to be earning quite a fair amount of money this way. I admit I accepted some of these offers, but after spending about EUR 50 on IQ tests in total, I decided to stop and took only free IQ tests from that time on.

cos you cannot test your IQ enough!
I accepted an invitation to take part in the first testing session of a new IQ test last Sunday and scored IQ 173 sd 15. You can find the test and solutions here.

hm... claiming high IQ AND payin' 50 bucks to get listed... Judge yourself...

Maybe the entrance fee is not only paid for being listed, but maybe also for the pleasure of the test? I'm a weak chess player, but i do pay entrance fee to chess tournaments. And chess players do also have a fucking IQ like rating (ELO). I sometimes pay for puzzles magazines (most of the time no listing here). I do also try to motivate my pupils to take part in (non free) Maths/puzzles contests. Hopefully the biggest interest lies in the fun of thinking, not the rating (be it IQ or else).

So i disagree if your idea is that paying for a test is stupid. But if you say 50 bucks is a too much i must agree, puzzle magazines costs approx 5€ each, 1 day chess tournament is approx 10€.

You don't pay for the test at HELLIQ, you pay to get listed after showing proof from an accepted test done elsewhere.
Ok my mistake, and i cannot disagree then...

I got this idea in my head...

Creating a site where sceners can pay like $100 to get listed. I will claim it's the only pr00f to be a real sc3n3r. Uploading your productions will cost $10 each, multi file costs $5 each file. And premium account (for posting on the forum) will cost extra like $50 each month. So desperately please, with sugar on top, can I get the pouët.net 0.9.903 source code, to get started really really soon?

BTW, the "World Genius Directory" is located here: http://www.psiq.org/

Listing in that directory is even free.

The answer to both questions is: Some do.

For example, you write at your homepage that you have a "first class" degree in computer science. So apparently you care about grades. Other people don't. Just acknowledge that everybody is different...

Adok: writing something in a portfolio and curriculum vitae once is one thing. Posting about it every 0-2 months and reminding everybody about it is a completely different thing.
