I tried to begin a project last summer to use the wiimote as a virtual camera, but I forgot that it's impossible to calculate rotations with just the accelerometer, then I decided to wait for this thing:

but it's too expensive for a piece of plastic. My idea was that with a fixed distance between the two accelerometers it would be possible to calculate rotations, but probably with an awful precision.

The barcode is totally _not_ related to the crypto of the binaries/assets. It's just an extra security measure to prevent people from booting backup discs. (which has allready been bypassed by modchips for ages)

There is no such thing as a 'lego starwars key', all current DVD disks share the same common key. Using this key they can decrypt _any_ dvd game, not just lego starwars. (Though there's multiple stages of decryption, with different IV's and at some point you have to use an 'application key', but all can be derived using the 'common key')

'Disabling some of the ATI bridge' ? The RAM trick relies on the fact that the ARAM of gamecube (Auxiliary Ram, used for audio stuff I think) is emulated using a portion of the GDDR memory on a wii. They don't mem-clear this region when switching to gamecube mode. so by dumping ARAM from gamecube mode you can aqquire 16MB of GDDR. Fiddling with the address lines prior to dumping the ARAM lets you access other portions of the GDDR.

False. They can _definitly_ patch this easily with a firmware update. The fact that they have 'teh crypto keys' does't mean they can actually SIGN binaries. (Hint: maybe there was a trick involved in that department)

Xernobyl: yes, check this (I can't longer find a "free version" of it) Of course as you supposed, it sucks a bit.
The only solution is to use a triaxial gyroscope or better the onboard smartcam of the wii with the IR dots coordinates.

yes, that's the downside :|
Anyway since the wiimote camera can track up to 4 IR dots maybe some fancy geosphere made of them could help... ok that's NOT simple nor practival... :]
