Am I the only one with CDC viewing problems?

category: general [glöplog]
I am having some problems seeing the CDCs of some prods.

Let's look at an example:
The latest prod given a CDC (at the time of writing is this one, but I cannot spot the CDC going through all the comments.
Am I having browser issues, or has it something to do with Pouet.net?

Another problem is, if we take "Starstruck" by TBL (which is fucking awesome, no doubt 'bout it!), it has been given 8 CDCs, but if you look through the comments, only 7 "real" CDCs can be counted. The last CDC is just a IMG tag linking to http://pouet.net/gfx/titles/coupdecoeur.gif, so I really hope that one doesn't count as a real CDC?
If the person who has given the prod a CDC hasn't commented it, it wont show up on the prod's page.

That's kinda lame, isn't it?
I'd like to see who gives CDCs...
but does he want to reveal himself to you?
Haha, that's not up to him.
Seriously, if you can't stand behind a CDC, better not give it in the first place?
But what the hell? I got my answer. It's just a little thing I'd like to see changed, that's all.
Seriously, if you can't stand behind a CDC, better not give it in the first place?

Yes, sceners are pathetic figures and pitiful liars!

I commented on all my CDCs.

Two of my CDCs are "proper" CDCs, as well, since most people overlook Pulse and consider Relic to be Nerve Axis' finest. Well, I disagree, Pulse is better :)

Also, "Electricity" is a lesser known 64k, but it really rules and deserves more recognition.

Noxie is generally well known to be one of the best Amiga 4k's, so its not quite in the spirit of the CDC to give one to it, but I don't care :)

Hell, if a load of people can give one to Starstruck, I can miss the point of the CDC for one of mine.

Also, in the case of "xxx international demo", that is the current "Pouet" CDC, not a user CDC. Isn't that right? That every month or so a prod is given an official CDC which is slightly different to a user using some glops to give one?

Yes. Pulse is way better than Relic.

7 cdc given by people + 1 from http://www.pouet.net/cdc.php, hence the 8.

Every prod that got a Pouet CDC will keep it afterwards.

Pulse kicks total and complete ass. Relic is nice. But Pulse kicks total and complete ass.

Also, if I don't wanna comment my Coop Decoration, that's MY choice, and you can just lump it.
So, why was Starstruck given a CDC? As I understand it, CDCs are for great prods that mysteriously get overlooked.

I really can't see Starstruck as a prod that is overlooked ;-)

Don't know, I don't set CDCs but I agree, Startruck is recent and already is quite in the spotlight :)

Xeron: As I remember, and I think this is actually in the comment thread - someone suggested it, and an admin said "yeah, yeah it should be" and it was.

So, yes, your understanding is slightly off.

Various other CDC's in the past have been "not shown at assembly because they're [AAAAAAAAAAANGSTY PS QUOTE]" and similar bizzarre CDC reasoning. It doesn't always make sense, but it rules that way.
Well, I disagree, Pulse is better :)

I SO totally second that! :)

i only cdc'd one not shown at assembly prod, the satori fuckhead video and it totally deserved it. chimera was entirely analogue or stil's choice.

i dont see why ppl complain about starstruck beeing cdc'ed when variform is on the top and won what we all know it won.

Well, in french "coup de coeur" means "double stroke" or something like that. You know, when you see something beautiful and it feels like your heart produces an extra beat.
In that sense of the concept, I think it's OK to give ALL productions a CDC if you think they're something special.

Still, I don't get what the Pouet CDC is for.
Is it glöperators, who give it out? Is it PS, the server (when reaching a certain amount of positive comments, or what?) or something else?
What is it good for, and why isn't it being displayed anywhere?
nutman: coup de coeur does not mean double stroke.. read the faq, it's written there what a cdc is supposed to be and how you should choose it. just that people ignore the original concept and still pick famous prods.

there are two kinds of cdc's. the original cdc is pouet cdc, it was given by analogue and stil and then when nobody would update it for over 6 months i started updating with new ones aswell, lately it's been analogue or stil doing it again.

then there are the users cdcs, once you, a user, passes certain glops you can name one more cdc, once again this is also described on the faq.

and last but not least, they _are_ displayed everywhere, are you blind? main index there is a box on the left that says cdc.. and there is a "more.." next to it.. and if you check it it lists all of the cdcs, both pouets' and users.

and no, i dont see why i should be showing more clearly who loved what, if they dont want to comment it they dont have to. each users cdc's are shown on their user.php profile btw.

Nutman: It's chosen by the admins, usually an overlooked prod that is not that recent (Starstruck is an exception indeed).
Last CDC was suggested to Analogue by me.

Now stop complaining, if you don't like that extra feature, just ignore it ;)
