You're all wrong.
Put the record to the needle, record, edit in a sound editor and load the wave file into yoyr tracker.

Thygrion: because it's traditional that collecting samples is part of becoming a musician. I personally recommend downloading enough mods from modarchive.com to weed through, or getting your hands on a "real" synth like Orangator or AXS.
