What happened to java demos?

category: general [glöplog]

A couple of years ago Java-Demos were all the rage and a couple of pretty good demos were released. Where are Java demos today? Computers got much faster and Java is less and less of a disadvantage. I heard it even runs on Linux now.

java demos were never "the rage".
yes, java was opensourced under gpl2.0 by Sun in 2k6.

Do you know Java? Its dead...dead hahahaha

Actually its not. IMHO Java and C# look alot cleaner than C and C++, I also think Java's garbage collection is pretty cool.

In the Netherlands we have a saying that roughly translates to "a storm in a glass of water". Given the *wonderful* legacy problems that early java demos and MS-poisoned implementations caused, good freaking riddance.
