I was in charge of the compo studios and guests at ASM07 and I have to say that this, by far, is the best compo studio I have ever directed. It was rather than an average studio interview more like directing a concert. Added some tgs there too. reed: I told you beforehand it's gonna be the best. :)

Thanks again to reed, smash and navis for making it happen!

I find it hard to see why that compo studio "episode" was the best ever. Did they even talk about the main topic, the amazing 64k intros presented at Asm 07? I saw just one that tried, but it got way offtopic, like in every damn pouet.net thread. Fucking pouetized demosceners, when u are on da tv, for heavens sake do not turn it into a hooligan show unless it is meant to be one.

it was hilarious, if you were expecting anything interesting to watch from any of the asm coverage this was it.. Zplex you are a cockmaster.

Zplex: if the 64k compo had been any good, you would have a point there but face it, that was the worst 64k compo at Assembly in ages so I guess it's better that they did not really comment on it...

zplex has a little point tho, but i would've disrespectfully discarded those entries as well :)
Zplex - you give the distinct impression that you haven't watched this, since you ask the apparently rhetorical question "Did they even talk about the main topic?" without recognising that during the episode, they made much of the fact that the competitors seemed to have made passable efforts, perhaps anticipating competition from much bigger names in the 64k field, but offered nothing spectacular. Smash also mentioned that one demo built upon previous work done in a 4k, but that he felt people shouldn't "borrow an idea" in that way unless they were going to take it further and do it more impressively.

So did you watch it? I reckon you did, but you've got some sort of grudge, or a bone to pick; or maybe you felt that the serious business of 64k post-compo analysis wasn't done sufficient justice. Because after all, making demos isn't about having fun, it's about categorising, analysing, quantifying, stratifying, empiricising... For fuck's sake - that sort of attitude is for Amazon 'Top 100' wishlist authors and other Asperger's sufferers.

Bottom line is this: if they'd spent a whole 20 minutes talking about three rather dull 64k demos, the production crew would have simultaneously fallen into bordom-induced comas and home viewers' TFT screens would all have melted out of sheer desparation.

Pouetised demosceners? You're the one who's come on pouet to bash it, mate. Sceners these days seem to expect something for nothing, as if resources like DTV are rights, not privileges. Did someone deny you your right to see free, streaming, 64k discussion? And for the record, it certainly sounded like the 'hooligans' were the hundreds of sceners doing an arse-conga round the partyhall, clearly audible to DTV viewers while Meteorik was trying to do the show:D

apparently, there were only three people in that interview :-)

Fact was, that compostudio was being discussed about 9 months before it came on, at the last sundown party when I agreed (to dotwaffle) to do the show in the first place. We always knew smash was going to be on air, and after an incident at the last BP where smash slapped DVS in the face with a slice of ham, I always knew that there was going to be trouble. Just before we went on, me and smash shook a "truce" and promised not to hit eachother with meat products, which was a good thing, because the tube of squeezy cheese I was planning on using in self-defence was back at the hotel. Apparently, smash didn't have any ham with him.

Needless to say, if i'm allowed to do the show next year, I'll try to make sure the same three people are there with me :-)

The fast music compostudio and the oldskool graphics compostudios were pretty funny too.

wtf why attacking Zplex personally ?

btw this show was funny indeed, but Zplex's argument isn't that wrong, the show may be seen by some people as disrespectful towards the groups who made the asm07 64k compos...

anyway this is the scene, nothing should be taken too seriously :D
