NVScene 2008!

category: general [glöplog]
yeh and unseen.. there's even more! they'll all have to be on stage at the next breakpoint so the audience can giggle and point at them!
graga: You have until tuesday 21 cet too finish anything. Just make a spinning cube, output audio noice and call it art. That way you atleast tried to release something, it's not your fault that their pre-selection didn't select your demo! :D

is there going to be a live stream for the demo compo? I think there was talk of one a while back, but can't find any info on one now. Also, is there a schedule for showing of the compos?

I like the look of those breakfasts
Some more pictures, one of the hall as well, plus compo-machine specs: http://demotrip.blogspot.com/2008/08/last-night-and-this-morning-sunday.html

Garga: That's too bad - you still have quite some time though, so it should be doable to make something at least - don't forget that you "gain" ~9 hours compared to european time. :) (and no, of course you don't have to return the kit)

Hamster: There will be a stream of the compos, but not live. It will be aired a few hours after the compos have run. We simply don't have a chance to do it live, unfortunately. :( DTV will be here in a few hours and start shooting reports though.

gloom: OK, I will do my best.
graga: make a remake of this :D

dunno if we make the deadline, having slight problems with too many bytes.

@gloom: so will the stream be available on the nvscene page...or demoscene.tv...or? Sorry to be bothering you during this busy time! :)

hamster: The streams will be at demoscene.tv, but rest assured they will be properly advertised on nvsision.scene.org as well as pouet.

Gloom, at http://nvision.scene.org/rules
is written about an XP compo machine and a Vista compo machine.
On your blog you only talk about Vista. Will there be both? Or.. ?

If you have a module, open it up in ft2. Browse the samples, when you find someone that is long and nasty (hires) you chop 1/3 of it in the middle. Do this for 2-3 samples and you should save enough space for your small sized demo.

Best part? Nobody will notice.

stefan: there's a demo compo and a 4k compo - you have exactly ONE guess in which compo "too many bytes" is a problem ;)

Magic: Why, are you delivering something that runs on XP only?
added on the 2008-08-24 22:09:35 by gloom gloom
i get sick of your cynicism, it's not magic's fault that he's always coding for compos that get cancelled!!!!1

Gloom: not me personally but my group is. And the coder has an XP setup, no time to test it on Vista. The drivers used to be slower on vista to than on XP (dunno how this is now)

so, is there a choice between XP and Vista as written on nvision.scene.org ?

We have an XP machine as well.

Ok, since its a byte problem its prolly not a 4k problem. I guess its a demo, if so you should open the demo movie file and do the same as with the module.

sorry my bad, its a "too few bytes" problem.

Oh. That's a nice way to say it.
You mean you're 4096 bytes short?
