NTSC C64 Demos

category: general [glöplog]

I'm looking for [worthwhile] releases for C64 that either were meant for NTSC machines, or just so happen to be (mostly) compatible. So far I only have:

Unsigned / Byterapers
Accumulator / Silicon LTD
Triad / Triad

...and my test stuff. Anything else? Even demos with compatible notes are sometimes good if they have good tunes (i.e. Edge of Disgrace or Black Spark).

...Vic-20 releases also welcome :)

Artefacts/Plush comes in an NTSC version aptly titled "Artifacts".

Thanks :) Current list:

Unsigned / Byterapers
Accumulator / Silicon LTD
Triad / Triad
Fourking / Dekadence
Dramatic Pixels / PwP
Antefacts / Plush
The Last Traktor III / Horizon
Ice Cream Castle / Crest

...any other good ones? I prefer the modern ones because of design, but groundbreaking classics are always nice, too.

I've checked some demos on NTSC in Vice, here're my results :)
+H4K/Plush - works fine
Dawnfall/Oxyron - works fine
Oneder/Oxyron - minor bugs
Crystal Sheep 3/Charged - minor bugs, CS 1 and 2 should also work
Exoff/Exon - 3/4 of the demo runs fine, crashes at the end
Lunacy 6/Antic - 3/4 of the demo runs fine, crashes at the end
Nothing But Code/Beyond Force - works fine
Pseudocode/Noice - works fine
Winteractive/Resource - minor bugs
Sabrina/Algotech - works fine
Accumulator wasn't intended to be NTSC.
Just watched it for the first time in Vice in NTSC mode and it runs surprisingly well :-)
Even the timing is quite okay (due to my excellent timing engine (tm) ;-).
Nevertheless, the demo was intentioned for PAL (50Hz) and it runs too fast in NTSC(60Hz).

Oh, and do a clickadiclick on britelite's link. You'll find some real NTSC demo's there.

well I realize it's not meant for NTSC, but I tried it anyways 'cause I liked it ;) The only glitch I noticed is in a transition towards the end...other than that EVERYTHING intended for PAL runs too fast on NTSC, but since most people (if not all) use frame counters for timing it all works out :)

Also thanks Nitro for the heaping list!

Also, Cubinator / Disaster Area runs fine in NTSC aswell (other than the horizontal scroll register, which is way off in all NTSC vs. PAL demos for Vic-20)
