Just give us the PS4 root key and we can make a demo about it ;-)

We really should encourage people to do small (in scale, not in filesize), fast (in development time, not in performance :)), fun one-trick-ponies instead of driving good people away because their latest output isn't teh bestest thing evar and how could you disappoint me so hard and whinewhinewhinebitchbitchbitch. And to be honest, the smaller projects where I/we could just get one thing right always were the most fun for me (except perhaps fr-08).

I released in a hurry this fun prod and looking at the comments:

"short" is used 45 times
"too short" 21 times

I don't know if there's still a room for short and/or fun prods, perhaps people are too much used to see "next-gen looking demos" :D

Awesome demo. Loved it. Guru meditating on it right now.
rez: 110 thumbs up vs 4 down and you're really worrying short fun stuff doesn't get appreciated? :)

(but ok, you can be lucky that prod is slightly to the left of the kewlers peak and not slap bang in the fairlight valley :D)

rez: can you fix that counter? i used the word short to describe it in good context. :) so 44 times please :) ofcourse there is room for short and fun prods. as long as you (the creator) wants to make them, they'll always be around and fun to make.

smash, kb: if you're suffering from "my name is too big, whatever i release people will say it could be better" syndrome why not just create a new group or fake handle? or do your own variform 2, seemed to do the trick for kewlers :)

or just not give 2 shits to pouet comments. that also works nicely.

ps: Don't worry about me, Farbrausch are dead long enough that even our small stuff gets appreciated, and also FLT/CNCD will eventually overcome that phase. :)

rez: actually short can be a compliment, because people (atleast myself) tend to like short and entaining demos more than thr onrd who are showing each effect for 4 mins

rez: my last one was <30 seconds, no complaints about it being too short. Guess everyone was thinking "ok, but thank fuck it wasn't longer" :D

I think demo length just has to be "right". <30 seconds was right for me, >5 minutes is right for an ASD demo with a ton of content. Swap them, and people will complain. It comes down to "show stuff for long enough to appreciate it, but not so long it's boring", which is usually natural but occasionally hard to get right (no complaints from me about your stuff on this point btw :)

Oh, and the bit I forgot to write there - if it's really good, the audience doesn't want it to end. No matter how long it is, it ends too soon.

I was SURE to be somewhere around the "anything with glenz vector" :D

Well btw, I think some of us are paying too much attention to bad comments and sometimes forgot all the good feedback... Bad comments must be a motivation to do better prod next time!

(subliminal message: I want new chiptune from smash and any new music from kb)
