• the rules for 64k intros are:
  
  if you are the first to use an OS resource in a major production, you get beaten up by all the other coders. that hurts. it questions your production. that's why people think twice before using something new.
  
  the second one who does it will get slapped a bit. after that, it's free to use for everybody.
  
  Now AND gets all the shame, and the pouet-popularty he gains from this discussion is hardly a compensation. The worst of his actions is ofcourse unclear crediting.
  
  I don't like this development. I say reasonable measures should be applied, but black-and-white thinking is so much easier than reasonable measures. An example: I think using one font is OK, we did this back on amiga, but using all windows fonts feels like cheating. but if we allow one font, then we must allow all fonts? thats logical, but not reasonable.

• Dbug: what qualifies the doomsday demo as a demo? for me it looks like a 3d-player of the worst kind. moppies IX at least had some exceptionally well done layering that qualifies them as demo-style, but legomania is a boring collection of not-so-well animated 3d scenes.
  
  it should take more to win at assembly than some cheap jokes on the matrix and lego.

• actually, the speech was what impressed me most. but using windows for that? till now, at least the major intros tried to limit "cheating" of this kind to a minimum. well, maybe this intro redefines the rules. i would not like that.
  
  whats left after i subtract the speech is still a "thumb up", although i hate the music-style.
