- demo Linux Windows MacOSX PPC Yuri Nation by Non Alien Nature Five [web]
- Ok. Now let's see what we have here.
This demo combines just about everything i hate.
- Wannabe-funny or wannabe-meaningful texts without any sense (seen before and in fact overused since the early demoscene days)
- Lo-fi overlays of the worst kind (seen before and overused in about every "no, we are not a keyframer, promised" demo since 1995)
- Cheap "i can do industrial too, here, i just have to press the conv button and play with the loop points" soundtrack (heard before and way better in enough MFX/Satori/etc productions)
- Some boring morph vectors and boring keyframed (read: BADLY keyframed) tunnel flights with slow low-poly objects
- Tons of senseless scanned overlay pictures (see screenshot), not even the slightest transition effects apart from "on, off", and an effective way to waste disk space and justify the silly production name with just three lines of code per part...
(seen before, and overused like hell by all those uncreative "design" guys/grrls, and a shame to use after the Doomsday era)
- slightly off music syncing, makes all the timing attempts look quite futile...
And apart from that, it's definitely rip of Metamorf, the general MFX/Kooma style, and i hope Macaw hans't needed more than ten hours for doing the whole thing. Otherwise, it really would be a shame.
No, thumbs definitely down. Even the actuaö ranking at MS was far too high. There were at least 26 better demos in the compo. - isokadded on the 2001-05-25 03:32:57
- demo Commodore 64 Reflection by Reflex [web]
- To clear things up, the pseudonym "Access Denied" was kind of a running gag since TP4, as Reflex' demo "Access Denied" was also presented under the group name "Access Denied" (which was a more or less famous Amiga crew back then), which confused people quite a bit and upset the Reflex guys quite more *g*

- demo Commodore 64 Tower Power by Camelot [web]
- We had a small meeting with The Obsessed Maniacs just at the time TP3 was held. It was great fun, and i wouldn't have missed it in any case, but a few days later, I got the disk with this demo from one of my contacts, watched it and thought "F*CK, why weren't we at TP, goddamnit"... I can only emphasize what phoenix has said, and this ws the reason why i was discouraged from demo coding for half a year and decided to make a trackmo of our to-be-released multipart demo later. Get this one.

- demo Commodore 64 LatX by The Obsessed Maniacs
- Hey, did i mention that this demo was completely done one day before Wired? I sat at school, thought "i want to make a demo for wired, goddamnit", stood up, told the tacher i had to leave now, and, well, started coding/composing this thingie from scratch. And how disappointed I was as the executable packer reduced the thing down to 8K :)
(just for the record, i blew one of the Wired's bass speakers with this one, and actually, i got quite a few problems with our school's principal for leaving class :)

- demo Commodore 64 Radio Napalm by Reflex [web]
- X'95... *sigh*.. it was a great party, and this was surely a great release. PVCF's music rocks, and the end part with the greetings is one of those "how the f*ck..." parts again if you don't have the right twisted idea :)

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Hardwired by Crionics & The Silents [web]
- One of the great classic A500 demos, and definitely one of my favourites. Ok, the "panther" cover could've been removed from the soundtrack, but it's ok otherwise :)

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS 9 Fingers by Spaceballs [web]
- hm, this was maybe the most urgent "INSERT DISK 2!" command I ever got from my Amiga... and I remember swapping the disks in less than two seconds, only to make sure that i don't miss anything. A must see, indeed.
And to join the discussion, I like both SOTA and this one :)

- hmm... well, about the genius, most of the sound code was done by Räd-Äd, I just helped by making the algorithms actually produce MUSIC instead of simple beeps *g*
.. and about the "fucking".. hmm... i must have missed something there :) - isokadded on the 2001-05-20 17:11:03
