• I found some stuff as early as 1979 from someone called "the whip" but they're just messages embedded inside the cracked programs.

That's earliest instance of a message/intro put in front of a game i could find (they were called "screens" back then).

• Alright stop changing the date back to 82, the referenced file IS from 1984, do you understand what that means ?

• You're right it's from 1982 but on the title screen it says "Copyright 1980 TSR HOBBIES, INC.", maybe it's an adaptation of a wargame or something.

• Also the binary file referenced in the pouet's link is from 1984. There's zero proof that it was made in 1982. Facts first.

• Quote:

Alien said in an interview that a father of a classmate of him who worked at apple could get one in 1982.

That certainly doesn't mean that intro was made in 1982 (in fact that proves it wasn't).

In fact, some commentors on the HERO page are also referring to that 1982 intro.

Are you trying to ignore all those who're seriously doubting about the year ?

• There was no c64 in Europe before 1983 (and it was released in the US at the end of 82).
The file is the same that can be found in the HERO game, check the csdb link.

• He's most probably mixing years, it happens to me too sometimes.
A quick look at this intro file shows that it's coming from the game HERO as mentioned earlier as the end of the file shows the name JEDI at address $280f anyway.

• And somehow the 1982 one doesn't fit with the rest: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/group/?id=2845

• 82 in USA, 83 in Europe, i find it hard to believe that some little boy pulled this without docs or even tools before the machine was even available. This is most probably this one.
