- 4k Windows Gary Glitter by Tristar & Red Sector Inc. [web]
- Without a doubt the best executed psychedlic intros I've seen. Pushing all those colors, geometries and tight syncs while not overloading the visual cortex and keeping it clean and discernible at the same time is nothing but an exceptional feat, I'm glad I was able to experience it on the bigscreen. Will certainly watch this more than once.

- 4k Windows Plexus None by Empathy
- A piece of art beyond technology, apparently the majority of the crowd seems to be immune to such things, I expected(or hoped for) this to rank much higher and wished for it to be longer. Imho the glitch effect would've been more effective if it had some progression to it.

- <3 dat tune + neat looking visuals and sync which unfortunately suffers from unreasonably bad performance(10ish FPS on my rig), please provide a capture / perf-fix / resolution-selector.

- 4k 8k Windows Maintenance by LJ & TBC
- Okay here it is, the final of my revision release that so catastrophically failed. For those of you who don't know, work on this release started in december 2016, two month before revision I went all in and worked every available minute on it, then after 30 hours of straight party coding action(no sleep, no food) and 5 minutes before the (extended) 4k compo deadline my machine died with a bluescreen, unrecoverably corrupting my shaderfile. After a few hours of contemplation I decided to pull through another night, rewriting the intro on top of an old backup, and push it into the 8k compo. I again stretched the deadline but fell victim to my sleep deprivation one hour before the compo in which I made things worse than they were before, so what was shown in the compo was a test build that wasn't crinkled to the max(hence larger than 4k), nor finalized. I promised a final version the same day, and here it is. Countless hours of additional work and I'm still not satisfied with the result but at this point its time to let go of it.
I've not been defeated, I learned a lot from this intro, across all disciplines.
Special thanks to those who helped me during the party, namely:
- Blueberry for helping me crunching bytes
- Las for stretching the deadline, twice
- BenJam for sitting down with what was left of me and trying to recover my corrupted shader file
- Puryx for relentlessly updating the music and providing feedback
- Hardy for the nice coding break chats
Also to all the people giving me hugs, support or simply leaving me alone when I needed to: You know who you are <3
See you at the next party and stay awesome, thank you! - isokadded on the 2017-05-21 21:44:00
- demo Windows The Void Stared Into Me Waiting To Be Paid Its Dues by Ümlaüt Design [web]
- Good direction and flow, great soundtrack, ending is indeed anticlimactic but I think subverting the audiences anticipation is a nice touch.
However I feel it could've been better if you'd introduced more(read any) contrast in the visual language, imho showcasing brutalism is all about that contrast just like sense of scale is. From a technical point of view, in the beginning scene the lighting feels a bit too plain for my taste overall though its in the okay to good range. Some textures could've needed better alignment, that bars should've had their own material and not be concrete also I feel some slight post proc would've gotten you a long way(slight vignette and DoF + tiny amount of bloom).
To be clear: I still consider this a pretty good demo even though it could've been a 4k ;) - rulezadded on the 2017-05-15 14:57:37
- demo JavaScript 269life
- I would like it, if you'd not run the camera into the geometry like someone with a stroke running his car into a wall over and over again. Also how is this "procedural graphics", if its animated it aint graphics.
