- demo MS-Dos Luminati by Tran
- Beatiful and enchanting. You really get lost in the flow and just keep watching and listening. One of the first demos I saw. Guess I need to check the rest of the trilogy as I never knew that there was more years ago.

- demo MS-Dos rebel? as perceived by Complex [web]
- A political message and symbolic visuals? Wasn't much of that back in '96. This is one of my favourites and the best demo from Complex. The best political demo, there really isn't any competetion either. Lovely.

- demo MS-Dos Ya'dot Klimon by Byterapers [web]
- Rocking music and the visuals match the feel for the most part but this does have some very rough textures and sprites unfortunately. Weak thumb still because with those flaws it still really manages to instill a sense of energy in me. Good art relates an emotion to the viewer, average does no such thing.

- demo MS-Dos Hyperventilation by Byterapers [web]
- Although the ABBA stuff feels plain weird to me, the design is very solid and uses every scene to great effect even where it could be thought impossible. The music makes me like ABBA too. I like the 3D scenes as much as anything here. No signs of ugly lack of details as is so common with 3D even nowadays.

- demo Windows Traumatique by Trauma
- As others have said, the music is pretty much the only good part about this although I did like the opening scene with the lighthouse way back when. The fact that this places 2nd at asm99 speaks loads of the quality that party had. Worst as m I've ever attended anyway, maybe one good demo in the compo... Good thing all changed for the better on 2000.

- demo MS-Dos sexadelic by Byterapers [web]
- It's funny how this failed to make any effect on me whatsoever during the actual compo. It might be that the partyversion was very different compared to the final as I was later told or it might be that the subtle color effects really did not show themselves at all on the big screen. However, this should've won the compo, hands down.
Best of the Byterapers on PC and a truly awesome production in every way. Great design and style. Somewhat reminds me of CNCD's Inside. - rulezadded on the 2006-01-29 16:29:38
- demo MS-Dos Reve by Pulse [web]
- A journey through a surreal dream world. Nothing quite like it will ever come again and it's surprisingly hard to be as unique as Reve in the world of demos. Poetry it is.

- demo MS-Dos Mindtrap by Trauma
- Every trauma demo seems to be a coder's demo to a varying degree. And they all have great music. Physics make an early appearance and there are a few nice effects but the overall graphical look is even somewhat ugly. I'll go for a weak thumb down.

- demo Windows Stuff I whacked together when I was bored by Trauma
- Teque's soundtrack is rocking and the rest is decent but it's nothing to write home about. Has a lot in common with Gateways.

- demo Windows The Line Age by Trauma
- Guess this went for something similar to floppy's dream equation series. Looked much better on the big screen when the jaggyness wasn't visible. Really disappointing to see afterwards and 4th place was too much anyways.
