GULag means: "glavnoe upravlenie ispravitel'no-trudovych lagerej" [= chief administration of corrective labor camps], it doesn't mean "concentration camp", nor did you even decipher the abbreviation right. and if this from the mouth of a native russian and eastern-europe historian is not enough, here is the proof.
  
  it's not like every IT- and computer-freak has to know this. but you, adok, are trying to play the academician every time i see you utter something non-computer-related here, and every time you fail miserably. either stick to computers and medicine or read some books (solzenicyn's "archipelag gulag" would be a good start) before you say smth just for the sake of it.
