- friol: Excellent! Messages like this one are the reason why we released this demo in the first place. We just changed to .net and want to check compatibility. Could you send a short email with the bug-report and a couple of details about your hardware and software setup to info@still-scene.org?

- demo Windows Spin by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Wow!! How do you do that? And when?
Amazing combination of different rendering effects. Actually, I was wondering, why you never applied the "evolution of vision" effects as a linking thread for a bigger production.
Spin is quite amazing, of course. I love the beginning and the animals running over bridges and through walls. My favorite scene, however, is the shape of the man running in the circle. It's almost like redefining Leonardo for the new age of Accelerando. It's especially powerful, because its simple and calm design nicely contrasts the generally hectic overall atmosphere of Spin.
Off topic: One good thing about this particle madness is that it refuses to be video captured. You actually need to run demos again, instead of watching youtube.

- demo Windows The butterfly effect by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Very interesting comments indeed. Can't really judge on the singing, because it's not my coup of tea. However, I really dig the piano track.
The visual's are gorgeous, esp. the Bokeh on the water drops are just breathtaking. I also like the usage of the complementary brown color. After reading Navis' explanation about the "constant changing world that revolves around the single 'particle': a particle that has a mind of its own", it feels like there could have been much more... well... depth. There is a concept, but I fail to see it applied to tell a story. In that sense, it looks better that usual, but it doesn't raise any associations I normally get from ASD demos.
One small detail, I really like, is how the displacement naturally creates the shadows below the falling leaves. Would have been nice to play with that a little bit more.
Ah, and of course, I believe that butterflies are doomed to be kitsch. But I guess, it's just me. :-) - rulezadded on the 2011-08-01 21:18:08

- Nice. Although a little too heavy dose of white flashing for my taste. The final scene (rotating around the 3rd typo), however, is extremely beautiful.
