- demo Windows Superselection by Byterapers [web] & Doomsday & Future Crew
- Quote:
It's a somewhat unreal (pun intended) feeling to see a new Future Crew demo released.
But of course no new demo can ever live up to that name. And I usually don't like story demos, so this is not for me.
Still makes me happy that it exists.
That was a design choice. Marvel was with us in Rainmaker at Revision but this time Purple Motion also joined as, so we discussed this and guys wanted to use FC name. We had long conversation with Gore (and we had to send him a lot of previews) if we can use the FC name, backup was use some kinds of acronym. Well afterwards I feel like we didn't deliver it as they deserve, but but but.. it was kinda too late to back up and M & PM wanted to go ahead with it. But it wasn't easy choice, or easy license/permit from FC leaders (Gore and PSI) - isokadded on the 2025-03-05 01:59:37

m, didn't like it as much as I wanted. The rendering was kind of Kasparov era looking tech (but less interesting movement of camera) and music very average. There is some message about god or something which I didn't quite follow (not the demo's fault, but the visuals were so uninspiring that didn't grab attention).
Still, the second best demo from this year.
At his late hour (or date, or year) I must comment, now that I had the strenght to come back to see pouet comments, I totally agree with Navis my drunken fried. But this was our 1st try to make a storylien demo, 1st try to make camera scenes with ppl, 1st try of maaaaany things. Not 1st try with Notch though. But considering that Doomsday Astronaut was 1st Notch demo Wode made and Rainmaker was 2nd and this was the 3rd one, not a bad progress. But still now we have to take a little break, last year was VERY overexhausting. No timetable for second one, no timetable for The Compiler story - but we'll continue the story at some form, we have over 1 hours of it. Making this was mostly fun, but the last rush at 23:00 (5 hours after deadline) was not. - isokadded on the 2025-03-05 01:55:29

I wish they’ve coded it themselves to prove all those silly statements presented inside.
That is the problem and there's no straight solution for it. Mostly us ancient teams who are resurfacing (or never really been away) notice that only breed which are not inspired to come back, are the coders. Byterapers has a huge bunch of graphicians ja musicians, but those few coders who did something awesome stuff 10-20-30 years ago, are still missing in action, or just commeting "is that gonna stay that way" but not participating. Same goes with Doomsday, everyone is hiding except Wode. We have tried everything to encourage them to return to active duty but nope, it seems coders are just not inspired, they live a good life with their huge coders salary, buy houses, fast cars, yachts etc .. we common folk are forced to use 3rd party engines when possible just because of that, not because we wan't to use them, but we have to because we want to participate compos at parties, and not just lurk behind the corner or in the dark forest drinking piss warm beer.
If you have solution this how to kick life to this coder breed folk, please share the wisdom. Otherwise we keep using the tools we have (and be a bit better step by step)
Recruiting coders seems to be quite impossible task aswell, same goes with 3D guys. Musicians, graphicians, "designers" - no lack of of those though. - isokadded on the 2024-09-25 15:57:55

Why didn't the camera path dodge the accelerator tube?
"start making demo 2 weeks earlier" isn't the answer. There's always last minute (and overtime) rush when sand, wrenches and other things start clogging the gears, and this time there was more of that than ever. - isokadded on the 2024-08-05 17:36:34

- This is Assembly 2024 party/compo version, final release requires a little bit content tweaks and a lot of performance/visual fixes, we verily surely will release it in following weeks. Pinky swear.

it's a nice prod that fits a party and its atmosphere (which is a good thing) but not a demo to remember.
That was the goal 100% we didn't except anything else nor more. Music, the rhythm of parts and buildup in the end was done by audience at German demoparty in mind. No guilt there. - isokadded on the 2024-05-09 02:46:07
