- demo Windows Uni made me use OGL 1.1 by Onslaught [web]
- Lol. It's not so bad if you consider this to be kind of parody of the first GPUs available 20 years ago - the times when showing 3d terrain, fog and mirror effect on the floor was enough etc..
However, you could have concenetrated on some procedural geometry generation on CPU, abstract motion-graphics etc... as you don't need advanced GL features for that. - isokadded on the 2015-11-28 14:35:27

- What am I looking at... particles + ray-marching? triangle noise? ;)

- demo MS-Dos Windows the fulcrum by Matrix
- Technically it wasn't all that new at a time, remember that Quake1 is 1996/1997 and Unreal 1998. Still nice to see shadows in decent software renderer.
I like the fact it has some story. First I thought it will be boring to watch, but it was actually strangely engaging. Overall, good work. - rulezadded on the 2015-11-10 13:18:05
- demo Windows The Future Is Yesterday
- Oh, found it!
1. Modify first line in lua/main.lua from "EDIT_MODE = false" to "EDIT_MODE = true"
2. Run demo again.
Now, flying is WSAD/SPACE/CTRL, changing scenes is 1=prev. 2=next. - isokadded on the 2015-11-09 23:54:01
- demo Windows The Future Is Yesterday
- Two thumbs up, easily!!!
This one is rather special, so I will try to be more detailed over here:
++ source code included (!)
++ super-fast optimized ray-tracing and voxel renderer, how cool is that?
++ straight to the point, no BS, not even pretending that it is something more than a coder demo
Now, there are minor flaws (arguably), like camera looks like manually controlled fly-by using 3d input device. However, on the other hand it can be a value in itself and surely adds more authenticity:
Let's face it, the guy was coding this shit up and was flying like this all day long while testing the performance, rendering bugs etc... So now he is simply sharing this feeling with us. For me it honestly even brings few tears to my eyes. And if you don't understand this, you probably never did any real-time 3d renderer, so better go and watch something else! ;-) - rulezadded on the 2015-11-09 23:12:57
- demo Windows Faux Processing by Bon^2 [web]
- Nice bunnies artwork. Overally the goal, which I assume was retro/oldschool demo feel, has been achieved, with additional bonus near the end.
Of course it would be better if it would run on some exotic/old motorola cpu'd hardware, but I understand this was rather out of scope here.
It looks like you had a lot of fun doing this demo and likewise - it was fun to watch! - rulezadded on the 2015-11-09 22:48:55
- 4k Windows Light Is Strange by Eos
- Yup, my kind of intro:
+ Music is very appropriate, not annoying, serves the purpose more than well
+ Pure technical effects, no designer BS or laughably-pompatic self-promotion
+ Nice visuals, also runs decent for me (five years old GTX 460, i7)
+ Interesting/unusual effects with light dispersion. It is really cool idea to make a small intro about it! I actually suspect how you do it, but would be even nice to read short making-of or something like that.
In fact, I would really like to see more technical demoscene nowadays, so this brings me some hope:) Good job! - rulezadded on the 2015-11-09 22:31:51
- 64k invitation Linux Windows MacOSX Intel tensile by Horology
- Top class! On of my favourite, because of algorithms used to generate scenes, plus super well made and enjoyable.
