- demo Windows summer encounter by Outracks [web]
- First version: "OpenGL native error: 506" then black screen with music.
Updated version: windowed demo with what I guess must be a lot of missing objects and features.

By the way, how many group entries did you plan for Pouet? The Beast Crew, The Bits Club, BITS. What's next? - isokadded on the 2006-06-28 03:41:38

- knox: I think I had the same problem. I don't remember how I eventually had it running properly though. Seems like some old intros (even basic ones) tend to run or not depending on the version of Steem you use.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS megademo 8 by Kefrens
- Quote:
actually i never understood why this demo was always ranked so high
the routines in this demo where quite unoptimized and already better seen in other demos before that one
tmb: Promax's 3D kicked ass back then, I remember we liked it so much that it even decided Starlion to start working seriously on our 3D routs for months on Atari.
Moreover the demo was just ubercool imo (along with some of its mods) ;) - isokadded on the 2006-06-17 23:14:33
- 4k Windows The Last Day of Lego Armada by LCF
- yeah I finally managed to watch it entirely, I thought it had nothing to do with Nooon since I did not get the credits and it was quite unusual for a Nooon release

Why the hell do you want to do stuff like this in Java? [...] this could be done in 64 bytes in x86 asm
I guess it's for the same reason some people make 64k intros when we all have broadband internet connections and huge hard drives, because there is a challenge. Moreover tons of people already did that on PC, you can find dozens of tutorials about it, which is far from being the case in Java.
I haven't done any Java stuff for years but compiling directly the bytecode with Jasmin is a good trick when trying to gain some space. However the downside is that it probably lacks some tables in the header of the class and information some JVM's need for the validation I guess (JMagic would probably remember better)
Nice try. - isokadded on the 2006-06-15 17:34:33
