- 64k invitation Windows "Kings of the Playground" - Evoke 2004 64k invit by Equinox [web]
- broderick: believe it or not but I think I had never seen the Paper intro before we released this invitation. I still have to watch it to make sure since my last attempt with dosbox was a failure :)
As a matter of fact, I took a few years break away from the demoscene and missed a lot of prods during that period, including this one. Or maybe I once saw it and my subconscious tricked me afterwards.
I think we had this plane idea in 1993 after watching an amiga demo. Starlion and I wanted to make an effect with it on the Atari ST but it ended up being a flying bird in the Virtual Escape ;) - isokadded on the 2005-05-27 19:15:27

- Basic sinescrollers and starfields were interesting and innovative when done with small executable progs running on 8MHz machines.
Those very same effects are not interesting anymore when done with not so small exe files, running on 1GHz machines, with reused design and ideas already seen 200 times.
I have always thought demoscene was about creativity, challenge & style. If you claim to be part of that scene and share the same roots, at least try to be persuasive and try to bring new stuff instead of constantly plundering 15 years old prods and their tunes, design and sometimes graphics.
However, if you cracktro people really can't come up with new ideas, at least try to reuse those old effects (already seen 200 times) in a clever way, a modern way instead of constantly delivering those dull clones... - isokadded on the 2005-05-26 11:51:37

- StanZ: I have a lot of old ST Mag, Gen4 and Tilt somewhere in a closet. I'll have a look someday and check if I can find other articles about it.
