- demotool Amiga OCS/ECS StarTrekker V1.3 by Fairlight [web]
- final release of startrekker by bjorn wesen a.k.a. exolon/fairlight.
a curious tracker, i'd say. features include 8 channel mode, fm/am synthesis for generating either realtime sounds or samples, midi support, macro editor...
if i'm not mistaken, startrekker 1.0 (released 14th july '90) was based on noisetracker 2.0 (released 1st july '90) by mahoney & kaktus. quote from exolon: "MIDI: Perhaps the greatest improvement in the soundtracker history! Made by Exolon for the NoiseTracker 2.0 but Mahoney stole my routines some days before."
also, again if i'm not mistaken, later on exolon also made a commercial version of startrekker called "audio sculpture". - rulezadded on the 2004-09-07 06:37:59
- demotool Amiga OCS/ECS ProTracker V1.3B by Amiga Freelancers
- truck asked for it, so here we go ;)
final release in the 1.x series of protracker.
by morten lund & lars "zap" hamre / amiga freelancers.
quote from exotica tracker history, concerning protracker 1.00:
"Possibly the most important feature ProTracker added was a play routine that was not raster dependant. This meant that people with NTSC systems (non Europeans) could listen to the music the way it was meant to sound." - rulezadded on the 2004-09-07 05:30:04

- votedisk Windows big chipcompo #6 votedisk
- great! another bunch of average and below-average chips in a compo with lame rules!
btw, i've never understood why make a remix of a tune if you can't get it right? - isokadded on the 2004-09-05 20:40:41
- demotool Amiga AGA ProTracker V3.62 by Osiris
- the final (to the best of my knowledge) release of the 3.x series of protracker.
based on protracker 3.61 by tom beyer/osiris. pattern loading, xpk decrunching and y2k bug fixed by jan poruba a.k.a. ttl/legion.
3.61 was released in august '96, the next two fixes in october '97 and september '98. the release date of the y2k fix is unknown.
the 3.x series were started by cryptoburners by releasing the horribly buggy 3.00 beta. tom beyer's 3.30 was based on the bugfixed 3.15 by cryptoburners.
personally i never got into the 3.x versions much, i was disgusted with 3.00 beta when i got it and kept using 2.3 until i finally switched to pc and ft2. - isokadded on the 2004-09-04 20:40:11
- demotool Amiga OCS/ECS NoiseTracker V2.0 by Mahoney & Kaktus
- the final version of noisetracker, which many considered to be the most important tracker developed since the ultimate soundtracker (until protracker came along).
the first version of noisetracker was based on soundtracker v2.3 by mnemotron/spreadpoint.
quote from mahoney:
"NT2.0 was supposed to be a commersial product, released by EAS Software in Germany, the same company that sold Obarski's Soundtracker. Unfortunately, we wanted to make a working and useful product, so when we considered ourselves finished with our work, EAS didn't exist anymore." - rulezadded on the 2004-09-04 19:16:56
- demotool Amiga AGA Amiga OCS/ECS ProTracker V2.3d by Noxious & Detron & Duff
- final "real" release in the 2.x series of protracker.
based on protracker 2.3a by peter hanning a.k.a. crayon/noxious.
resource & aga fixes by detron. a1200 keyboard fix by duff.
the release month is unknown. - rulezadded on the 2004-09-04 18:04:14
- demotool MS-Dos Fasttracker 2 by Triton
- again, same as dalezy :) with ft2 i actually had reasons to use pc instead of amiga for tracking.
although i did miss some features from protracker; i'd rather see a windows tracker with all the best pt & ft2 features combined than a 1:1 ft2 port. - rulezadded on the 2004-09-04 14:02:06
