- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Unknown Territory by Axis
- Heh. Their reaction to too much filled vectors is my reaction to too many also-rans coming during 1991. ;) This isn't quite an also-ran, the halfres perspective scroller and zoom scroller should be appreciated if they run at 50 fps, and the writer is nice.
The demo is made for expanded Amiga with harddisk. I couldn't judge the framerate on OCS, because it doesn't run on any of my OCS/ECS Amigas nor WinUAE. On AGA it starts, then hangs. Could be the music player in the BBS ad screen, but expecting 500K fast free in AmigaDos for OCS 1MB shows inexperience, so it would not be expected to run on it.
If the big datafile is the reason (I don't think it is), they could have saved a few hundred K in the release size since they left huge samples in it twice over (Gods title drum rythm etc). Maybe this points to a hidden part, since the music I hear is 1991-ish and unexciting. But rushed and no final version and not intended for OCS 1MB is more likely. And then ofc much more is possible than shown here. - isokadded on the 2018-07-22 21:18:17
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Megademo 1 by Northstar
- Obvious classic! Northstar lit up my eyes as a teen democoder :)
Actually this got spread to me after their Megademo II, because my swapper had his contacts in England and Europe, so I experienced BS1, TEK, tons of German stuff before a few months later stuff got spread by Swedish groups like S.O.S., Triangle, etc. - isokadded on the 2018-07-06 00:43:28
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Megademo 1 by Megaforce
- Not thumbed up? Sacrilege! :) Top classic.

- demo Amiga AGA Paranoid by Rebels
- This demo makes me want to buy a 1230/IV for my other A1200 just for the appropriate(?) experience. <3
The skull bump is eyecandy even today. But I appreciated more, like the demonstration of nonfixed geometries and (of course RGB) lightsourcing :) Brilliant. - rulezadded on the 2018-07-06 00:20:12
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Megademo by Magnificent Force & Joy & The Jungle Command
- Hehe. 1989 was indeed the Year of the Megademo ;) Liked the Dino scroller and the vectors. But overall, better things had been released before and I would probably not have kept the disk. So honesty rule says piggy for this one.

- demo Atari ST The Union Demo by The Union
- Carebears rulez and a great megademo with a musicdisk at the end even more :) (First reference that comes to mind is Megaforce Megademo, maybe others?)
This is probably one of the demos a mate showed me on his ST (after I actually returned my ST to the store to buy an A500). A lot of the ones he ran had this character to walk around to start the parts, I remember and an impressive starfield in one parts (another prod). And we played Super Sprint. Good times.
And obviously Atari realized later that you need custom chips to make a good computer and put some sort of copycat chips in the STE, mwhahahh ;) - rulezadded on the 2018-07-05 23:43:03
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS TechTech by Sodan & Magician 42
- Obvious thumb and a very early classic! This came just before I was introduced to these things called "demos". :) So it never got spread to me. But I did watch it years later by running the parts separately I remember.
Trivia: this was one of my choices for my demoshow on Datastorm ;) 2013, where I hoped to avoid gurus for these (largely pre-A500) demos by loading an A1000 Kick 1.2 ROM into ACA500. - rulezadded on the 2018-07-05 23:01:03
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Cube-O-Matic by Spreadpoint [web]
- Slow, but what to say? A polished first in non-iso texture mapping in demos! Sometimes, slow means good and genuine. It can also be a step forward for a platform, in that it can start a competition for bigger+better+faster effects. Obvious thumb from me :)

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Blitter disaster by Storm
- Remember seeing this and watching it several times, then sort of needlessly dismissing it from shaky precision and so few pics rotate in Z. Rewatched it now on the old beast, and this already means a thumb. I appreciate the early tech and experimentation.
It must be a first for iso projection. Virtual Intelligence added filled vectors behind, but was released much later. Cube-o-Matic, another great Amiga demo, also came later and does perspective, but is very slow. I'll go check that I've voted on those too now. :) - rulezadded on the 2018-06-30 01:48:11
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Metal Melissa The Pisser by animators [web]
- Adihash :D A wild mix of everything - never saw this. The code is generally not top notch, especially for July 1991, and I would probably have shouted at the screen after 15 seconds of the Walrus scene if I couldn't skip it.
Rewatch? Probably not, but I liked the opening and some of the work here. - isokadded on the 2018-06-30 00:54:08
