- Hi there,
We just fixed the freezing bug, and you can download the fixed version here. - isokadded on the 2009-06-09 15:32:30
- game Atari Jaguar Jetpac by D-Bug [web]
- Some corrections:
a) It doesn't run in virtual jaguar I'm afraid, so you'll have to either use a skunkboard or a bjl cable on a modded jag (or an alpine board I guess if you have one)
b) I just tried the game on two different jaguars, the one used on the party included. Turns out that there is a bug at the code that reads the jagpad that makes the jaguar crash if a button combo is pressed (A+C I think).
c) It's completely done in 48 hours :)
So, you're quite safe as long as you use only button b (which incidentally is the only button you need :))
We might release a bugfixed version in the future! - isokadded on the 2009-06-04 08:23:10

- Defjam vs lsl.... who will win? :)
Concerning the comment above: Yeah it feels a bit inconsistent and there are no transitions between parts....
BUT: If you regard it as I did (a traditional ST megademo with different parts) then it becomes a clear winner.
The homage to TCB again was fun (24 hours screen, enchanted lands boot loader), and the rest of the screens' frame rates are unbelievably good!
All in all, I enjoyed it, so here's my thumb! - rulezadded on the 2009-05-24 14:47:04

- Ok, here's the story of this product:
It was written by Cyrano Jones back in 1995 or so in 2 days, in order for him to get acquainted with the Jaguar hardware (he had no previous experience ;)). It was meant to be included as an easter egg in Sinister Developments' game, Slam racer. Unfortunately, two issues arose: a) Rare (Ultimate) didn't give permission for Jetpac to be included in Slam racer, b) Atari went belly up about two weeks before Sinister Dev. handed the game to them :(.
After about 14 years later the source was found on old backup media, some issues were quickly resolved and it was handed over to the Outline 2009 game compo!
As I had virtually NO involvement with this game, I'm going to give it a thumbs up, since it's the speecy version on steroids :) - rulezadded on the 2009-05-24 00:42:15
