- musicdisk Windows Hugi Special Edition #2: Hugibox volume 1 by Hugi [web]
- normally i wouldnt be so bothered about a throwaway tune, but adok's arrogance just irritates me incredibly much that i didnt want to be associated with any hugi crap again.
it's not just a common thing to do to ask permission to reuse something, it's a basic polite and common sense thing to do whether you know anything about scene etiquette or not (i.e. you'd have to have the social skills of a complete fuckwit to miss it).
of course, if you're just some asshole trying to boost your own fame off the back of other's work, then perhaps asking permission is a bad idea.
also, most people, when told that somebody was unhappy with how their work was used, would be at least a bit apologetic about it, rather than reacting with your characteristic pathetic arrogance shown here.
adok, remember: in the scene, people's creative work is the most important thing. they own it, and they always choose how it should be used - i.e. you ask permission. whether it's gfx for a demo or music for a diskmag or whatever, the author has direct control over how and when the work is used. i'd expect even someone from my own demogroup, who i actually like, to ask permission before using one of my old tunes in a prod.
if i remember, i did that track for hugi 11 because you asked me to directly, and it was intended only for that. you act like you paid for the work, or else that i should somehow be desperately grateful for it's inclusion in hugi. in reality, you should be incredibly grateful for anyone who took the time to contribute something, and treat it with the utmost respect, especially if it's deemed good enough to actually use.
finally if i had actually been asked whether i wanted my tune in this, i'd have said "no". which is preeetty much the acid test of whether it was right to use it, isnt it.

- fuckings to you for putting one of my tunes on it without asking permission or even so much as mentioning it to me (or even putting musician credits in the info file).

- 96k Windows Project: Snowblind 96K Teaser by .theprodukkt
- rating it purely as an intro and ignoring the politics..
thought the squid thing was nice, but otherwise i found it a bit ugly. serious zoomblur overload. :) - isokadded on the 2005-02-09 11:05:38
- 64k Windows nelikvideo by Unlimit [web]
- would have been a nice prod in like 1999 or so (if it ran on that date of hardware, too, of course). now it just seems really dated in terms of look, style and sound. quite slow too.

- diskmag Windows Hugi #30 - Scene Substance by Hugi [web]
- music and gfx are butt ugly.
not very many articles. preachers one's were at least a slightly interesting read. the rest were mainly awful, with the usual suspects (ep, optimus) writing a load of crap.
after the pile of shit that was hugi 29, i'm almost impressed it actually managed to get worse from there.

- 64k Windows MacOSX PPC pageturner by Black Maiden [web]
- thumb for the 3d graf. very stylish.
apart from that, it lacks content bigtime, way too short and seems very unfinished. (dont really like the music that much either)
shame, cos if it was complete it could have been something great. - rulezadded on the 2004-12-30 12:12:52
- demo Windows fr-038: theta by Farbrausch [web]
- a few very slow parts, a couple of very ugly parts (e.g. the scene with a load of cubes in b&w), but generally i do like the style, design and direction.

- 64k Windows 5p!k3y by Last Minute Tours
- really quite ugly. =)
also, i get a rather strange rendering bug, exactly the same here as on beyond, where you get black over the top half (more or less) of the screen. - isokadded on the 2004-12-29 18:24:03
