- demo MS-Dos machines of madness by Dubius
- What gave me the shakes back then was the mirrors and the mech! And the gears! Anyway, a great demo of its time, among the best of the pc scene.

- demo Windows nature still suxx by Federation Against Nature [web]
- Nice improvement over the first demo. The music for starters is much better, although not perfect, the raytracer also looks more accurate. There are better ideas about objects and more coherence overall. The scorpion is quite nice at the end.
About design: Current technology allows us to make the first acceptable efforts in raytracing. Raytracing needs a bitchload of horsepower, nomatter how well you optimize it. That's why it's an exception to see a well designed demo that uses tracing (H7). Think of it like the first demos on the pc where everyone at first showed what effects could be done. Design came later. Anyway, realtime raytracing *is* the future. And it will probably be done in hardware too. It's just a matter of time. - rulezadded on the 2001-12-01 03:25:29
- demo Windows Nature suxx by Federation Against Nature [web]
- Some scenes are very good, the train is a good example. The music seems promising at first but soon leaves much to be desired. The raytracing engine is cool of course but I think it is wasted in this demo. Just a 3d flight with lights, shaddows and reflections but nothing really exciting. Also it is long and boring. Pressing the 'c' button to move around is very nice but the controls are all mixed up.
All in all, it is interesting to watch once for its raytracing capabilities but that's it. "Nature still suxx ", the follow-up is much better. - isokadded on the 2001-12-01 03:07:48
- musicdisk Windows hardCORE
- One note of caution, though... I started to listen to 'Digital Agony' on the headphones. Veeeery dangerous stuff... Don't try that at home, boys and gals! :-)

- 64k Windows Tripfish 2 by Kewlers [web]
- The music is actually great, as long as you like industrial tunes :-) The idea behind this demo is quite good, there are some very moody fov changes, the camera movements have great sync and the screen interference is very good.

- invitation Windows Alternative party 3 invitation by Trauma & Armada
- OK, this rulez all the way. Everything is rendered in text mode and looks awesome. The music is also a classic oldskool chiptune which rocks. Design is top notch, since the whole feel of the intro represents exactly what the party is supposed to be.
Don't miss it. - rulezadded on the 2001-11-28 14:17:13
- demo Windows Revenge by Base [web]
- Well, I kinda like gabba and ridiculus profanity, so this does not suck... :-)

- demo Windows Black Matters by Threepixels [web]
- Awesome! Some parts (city, subway) reminded me of Max Payne game. The only thing missing from the camera slamming on the subway pole is a 'sheeeaat' sample! :-) The music rocks, so does the design. The credits appearing sideways is also a nice touch!

- demo Windows Sinum by T-Rex [web]
- First, I'd like to say that I hate medieval stuff, dragons, elfs, witches, wizards etc.
BUT this demo is fantastic. It has probably the best models I've ever seen, they smell like poser but I don't mind. The dancing human in the beginning is excellent, to the point that I am really wondering how they did it (motion capture? how? and who danced?!? :-) The textures are very nice too and the design is fluid. The only thing that bothered me is the guitar riff in the middle which sounds rather bad. Also, the naked lady in the fire could use some... clothes :-)
Apart from that, it's just excellent! A definate recommendation! :-) - rulezadded on the 2001-11-25 01:40:14
